Lauren Hi everyone,
I just got a nook for my birthday and I am VERY excited about it! I just got the glowlight (I don't want at tablet) however, I'm very confused as to how to use the thing! I'd like to lend/borrow books but I'm not sure how. Everyone says "go through the library and goodreads" but how do I do that?

Can anyone please help me out? I'd love to start using it ASAP (I'm really excited about it).

Gracias---
Extremely confused lady

Jeanine (jjelizalde) got My Nook on the B &N website. It explains how to do it. You need to friend other Nook owners via email addresses. there is a thread on here already to do that. :)

Did you learn how to borrow digital books for your Nook from your public library? Its really easy. Also, Barnes and Noble has THOUSANDS of free books you can download. Just go to their website and type in 0.00 in the search bar.

Lauren Thank you Carol and Jeanie! I will try finding some 'nook friends' who like the same books as me (which is almost all books) and Carol, I tried to but the library was closed for a snowstorm and then I had to leave town for grad school. I set it up through my school but they only offer textbooks and scholarly journals which at this/ point, I get enough of in classes.

Is there a limit as to how many libraries you can sync with?

No, only how many will allow you a library card. lol I have two, one for my county and one for a larger adjacent county which has a better selection of books. But I just go to the library's website, choose my books, then it downloads to my computer to adobe digital editions, then plug in the Nook to the computer and put the book onto my Nook. If you have any trouble, let me know. I will message you with more detailed directions. Happy Reading.

And for organizing my books and transferring to my nook, I use calibre.

Missyb | 221 comments you can get Nook Friends which lets you borrow a book from a Nook Friend and after so many days it reverts back to them. Ask people to be your Nook friend, exchange email addresses (the one you use for your Nook account) and then look through their library of Nook books available and then you click on ask and then they'll get a notice and they need to click yes and a little message should show up that you have a book waiting.

I hope I got this correct, it's been so long since I've done it. There is a discussion in this group about people wanting Nook Friends. Check that out and you can probably get some friends out of that.

Look for classes offered on Overdrive/borrowing from the library at your local B&N. That's what I did and their directions were so much better then my local library. The class was free, and was only about 1/2 hour. Plus, the B&N person can answer questions on your Nook and borrowing from your library.

Yeah, I didn't use the word Overdrive but that's what I was referring to regarding digital library books. I learned how to put the library books onto my Nook via you tube!!! My adult kids told me that you can go to you tube with just about anything. lol It worked for me!

Missyb | 221 comments If you live in NY state you can borrow from the NY City library even if you don't live there. There are a few library systems in the country that let you borrow e-books without living there, not sure which ones, but it may be something that a google search will turn up.
