What's the most…interesting…thing you've had to google for your book?

This morning I googled "how long does someone have to be revived after their heart stops," but it's certainly not the scariest thing I've ever googled for a book haha. I can't think specifically, but i'm always googling things about weapons and injuries…so if the Feds show up at my house this is why lol I'm just a writer, I swear!

David Thirteen (davidjthirteen) Oh, I'm always worried about ending up on some watch list. Especially, after one extended session that I spent researching water contaminants and infectious diseases that can lead to insanity.

Oh my gosh Bisky lol This is why no one wants to invoke the Bisky Wrath lol In the horror story collection I did with my friends, one person who's an EMT wrote a very detailed story on that. Very. detailed. ._. Things cannot be unseen.

@David I worry too lol. I'm sure this thread will be tagged haha Aren't we just a lovely bunch of people *sigh*

Tamar (tamarhela) | 4 comments I recently had to google "pictures of Richard Simmons" because one of my characters describes her hair as looking like Mr. Simmons fro. Haha.

Steve (whirlochre) | 1 comments Tracking down German swear words is harder than you might imagine - even if you imagine that 'google' means something awfully rude in Bavaria. Other than that, I have to run with the price of a prime breeding pig circa 1997 to 2008. The River Cottage Forum put me straight on that one.

lol @steve I didn't know about the google thing haha

@Tamar Livin' on the wild side haha Who has better hair, Simmons or Einstein? Both wild cats lol.

I've researched about body decay and blood decay, too. I wrote a short story where an artist and her boyfriend kidnap and kill a person, so she can paint a picture with the victim's blood. I may return to this story someday. haha

A while back I searched on Google how it feels to drown. One time I searched about the effects of instant coffee, and I found an article that claims that the consumption of instant coffee can cause hallucinations, but my mother (she's a nurse, and I told her about it) and I think it's fake. xD

My Viking had a near death experience, nearly all my death scenes are based off what he told me it felt like to die. But Most of the things ive been searching recently have been to do with keeping people alive...although missing bits...

@Bisky - I suppose there's positives to having negative situations. One time I was driving on the highway when it was icy... I was turning a curve really fast and went into a ditch and ended up with my car on its side--I wasn't hurt, but it was a frightening experience that I'm utilizing for fiction use. I've also been researching about drugs... Nelly was a marijuana user before the story begins--which is in 2011, so it's still illegal in the entire country xD --so I've been watching documentaries about drugs just for some perspective.

Claire - I like how maggots can eat up dead cells. :3 Didn't they use leeches, too?

Claire (cycraw) | 278 comments @Josh, not in this episode, but there was a time when they did. Apparently, because of superbugs that are unaffected by antibiotics, they're starting to use things like this again. On the one hand I was like 'gross, I want to throw up now', but on the other hand it really is amazing!

@Bisky Yikes! I'm glad he's still here for you though. I've done a lot of research on NDEs actually, especially for another project I was doing a while ago (since been discontinued lol) but I read this awesome book called Science And The Near Death Experience. It was a really good book, brining science-y explanations in as a possibility and it also had dozens of personal accounts, which were awesome to read. Like some were 'there was the light' or 'a dark tunnel' or 'i saw my deceased loved ones' or the 'out of body experience, i saw them trying to revive me' and 'out of body experience, I was traveling to a totally different place my body was at.' All very interesting to read :)

@C.S. I have researched all of those as well, except the killing self one lol

@Claire Very interesting! Although if I had the choice of infection and bugs crawling in my wounds, well… lol

Oh Carl, come now, there must be *something* "sick" that you've googled for research. Come on, do share :3
