I just finished "The Bean Trees" by Barbara Kingsolver and I really liked. I thought the main character's personality was very real and likeable. The situations were also very real, but not over-emphasized. I would recommend it.
I also finished "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" by Jean-Dominique Bauby. It was really good too. I also went and saw the movie (the book was better). It is interesting because of the way he wrote this book - using his left eyelid because he was a quadrapalegic (sp?). It is one of those 2 hour reads if you are just looking for something quick.
I also finished "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold. It was pretty good. An interesting perspective on death and what happens to a family in the midst of tragedy.

Trying to choose my next book now.
