Lara Amber (laraamber) | 664 comments I realize this is off-topic from science fiction/fantasy but I did have a question and consider this group a "go to" source. So basically after all that exposition, I was wondering if members here maintain daily/weekly journals. I was wondering about the reasons people do or don't keep personal diaries. Also if you do, format (and if software, which product).

So far I haven't, but I have been considering it.

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 17 comments I haven't, but judging from the people I know that have them, they are very useful

Christopher (nerdthatlifts) I maintain a journal, but it's not my own. it's the daily journal of a 14th century Swedish ferret farmer named Yord.

Sadie Forsythe | 47 comments I kept a daily journal for years and years. I've fallen out of the habit lately simply because I find I have less time for it and when I do have time I'm out of habit and it isn't the first thing to come to mind anymore. Then when I occasionally do decide to pull it out and add an entry I feel the need to recap big things and never get to the small, emotions that make journaling so meaningful.

But I've always found it cathartic writing in it and then interesting to look back at years later. I still have my journals from when I was a teen. Now, a teen doesn't do much of interest, but it's interesting to hear my own voice and realise how different it is from the me of now.
