Goodreads Reviewers' Group discussion

How many of you are taking part in the Goodreads challenge this year? If so, how many books do you plan on reading for it? Do you plan on reading more than last year, or less?

My goal last year started at 50, but as I surpassed that in the middle of the year, I set my goal to 75, which I also surpassed. In the end, I read a total of 90 books last year, but I'm not confident that I'll manage that many this year, so I'm back to 75.

I've set mine for 200. Last year I set it at 50 and ended up upping it again and again as I kept hitting my target. I never realised how much I read!

I settled on 175 and ended up reading 202.

I have set my target at 50 which is more than last year. Seeing as I have already read 4 books I think I maybe upping it later on in the year.

I think the challenge made me read more - I could always see my progress and I wanted to do better.

This time I picked 100 books.

I picked 100 books which are more books than last year. I liked the way it shows how ahead or behind I am. It's motivating.

I decided to go with 50 books, and hopefully I'll manage to finish my challenge this year :)

My reading for pleasure challenge is read 1 or more books until the end of the year and so far I've read 42 books this year. I don't know how many I'll get to by the end of the year.

I set mine for 52 books, and I'm six books behind. I'm determined to catch up! It's a big motivator having the challenge up for public display. I feel so triumphant whenever I click "I'm finished."

I am so hideously behind this year - coming up to 20 books now! Once I start on shift work in a few weeks I can read uninterrupted during my breaks though.

I just started the challenge on July 1st, so I set my goal at 40 books, which is probably wishful thinking, but motivating nonetheless. I'm apparently 18 books behind. I'm hoping next year to start early, and I think I'll aim for 52 books.

I'm aiming for 60 this year and have currently read 48 - so 80%! I should smash it!
