I read through the help section and some of the author promotional help and I'm still a bit confused. I know that readers often find books by genre and I've seen "most tagged" books touted on the front page.

How does your book get put into a genre category? Is it by the author, readers, goodreads librarians?

How does a book get tagged? Is it just what folder readers assign it to?

By readers. They shelve books on various shelves, many of which correlate to genres.

Good luck with that. I'm the author and I'm not quite sure what genre my book belongs in.
