I think I thought we weren't doing another book for this month and then were just reading A Monster Calls for our next book in February. But I'm cool with discussing Name of the Wind in January! I've already read it, so that's easy for me...
So after our round of email that indicated that nobody had read this yet, I decided to try it again in the bright light of a snowy morning. (The first few pages were a little intense for me at night.)
And I just read the whole thing today. It is SHORT. And good. A 1-tissue read for me even though the plot could really go in only one direction.
I am mulling over the role of anger in the book, and whether there should have been more consequences for Conor. I'm glad his mother's advice was tempered by his experience with the yew tree.
I really liked the yew tree.
