"This is a beautiful, joyous and addictive book that you will likely read in one long, sleep-starved night, but it will be worth it." -Valerie Polichair

Judging by the volume of reviews we’ve received, it looks like many of you have been spending, “sleep- starved nights” with a good book. At the end of Week 8, 202 UCSD staff and students have read and reviewed a total of 562 books! And we’ve still got 5 weeks to go!

It’s fun to see the diversity in everyone’s reading choices. From historical fiction and mysteries to fantasy and non-fiction, we’re hitting on every genre imaginable. Our current Reader of the Week, Michelle Chin prefers to vary her reading choices as well, “books I read can be kind of unpredictable, I can go from a classic novel to a book of poetry followed by a young adult book and then a biography.”

For those interested in the “Contest” aspect of the program, Don’t Call It A Comeback put some distance between themselves and our second place team, Today’s Specials this week and team, Spectacular Spectacular is on the board in third place. 43 participants have earned their 5th Review Prize and are eligible to attend the Summer Reading Luncheon planned for August 19th and 13 of you have not only met, but surpassed the 10th Review mark. Awesome!
We appreciate all of the feedback we’ve been receiving about the Contest and suggestions you have for our Website and these Weekly Updates. Keep ‘em coming!

Happy Reading!
