Hey everyone im new here and just wanted to see if others agree with my opinion.

Have you seen the new trailer for the vampire academy movie? I loved this whole series and was excited when I found out it was going to be a movie but...

They made it part of the comedy genre?? Can someone please tell me why it is there. And why they would waste a budget making this. And put everyone off from reading the books. I mean have you seen the cringe worthy acting? And the even-worse-than-twilight vampire jokes? I mean, come on!!

Thoughts?

i love this series and the movie is definitely gonna be so bad i wont see it.

The trailer for this movie looks so bad. It is directed by the producers of mean Girls so I am expecting it to be nothing like the books. I am hoping that the fans of the series will get all of their friends to read the actual book to prove that the movie is NOT like the book. I will go see it, but just to complain about how inaccurate it is.

I was excited when they first announced a movie was being made, but now I think it's not going to be very good...and it's a shame because this is an incredible series! Just from the trailers, I don't really like any of the characters they picked. Dimitri is the only one it looks like they got closest with, but even he isn't as dreamy as I imagined...

I loved the book series. I haven't seen the trailer though. Is it on youtube?

I am so glad I am not the only one that thinks they made a very bad choice for the movie. As Harlee said the actors they picked really don't seem to fit the characters in the books. It's a shame really because I loved these books so much. Anyone know why they chose to make the movie the way they did?

I saw the teaser right after reading the first book and I had no idea what was going on. I thought dimitri was so ugly and the blood on the walls? WHAT

But then the actual trailer came out and dimi is growing on me.

I hate that it is by the people from mean girls, because thats what it looks like. this book has the potential to be seen that way, and I really hope it doesn't

I loved the series, and i'm actually happy with the movie. I've gotten past that Mia has short hair,the accents.I don't like the 'They Suck at' this that and another thing. That could be done away with. but other than that I'm completely looking forward to the movie.

It has a comedy aspect, because rose Was snarky in the books, so was christian. I'm glad they've kept that, and everything else.

I shall probably go and watch the film. I liked the books. I find very few films do the original book justice though! I try to take them as something independent.

I've seem the movie twice and think its great. It was a pretty faithful adaptation. The trailers do NOT do it justice. The movie is not the stupid comedy the trailers make it look like. If you're not seeing the movie because of the trailers, trust me, it's nothing like them.

The movie was pretty good but the scenes were a bit rushed.

I think it sucked... And I was soooo mad at who they picked to play Dimitri. That's wasn't how I envisioned him at all!

The movie was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo incredibly bad! The books are so good, and the movie's definitely gonna lower their popularity. :( I'm so sad about it.

The trailers were so awful!!! But Annie is right - the movie is not nearly as bad as the trailers make it look. I thought it was decent - not nearly as good as the books but I enjoyed it.

But seriously, what idiot made that trailer? And the movie posters - "they suck at school"??? Not a good reflection of what the book was all about. Made it look like it was about a couple of bimbo vampires. ugh.

I didn't like the casting for Dimtri either. Just no.

I haven't read the book, but I say "Don't judge a book by it's movie".

Well I guess if I watched the movie without having read the books it would have been decent.

This is gonna sound horrible, but there was not one single hot guy in the movie. Rose should have been a harder actor. I pictured her as Nina Dobrev.

Haha like in Divergent, they cast everyone apart from Tris wrong. I mean, Will's actor was 28! And I kept getting Will, Al and Peter mixed up. Like legit I was so confused. :/

I so agree!!! They all looked exactly the same to me haha And when Peter was doing something mean I would think its will/al and get super confused…

Nina Dobrev would have been a great Rose! sigh I actually didn't mind the casting for Rose though - she did a good enough job. I really didn't like the casting for Dimtri and Lissa.

I haven't read it, but still want to. Even after seeing the movie, which was pretty nice according to me. Not like the best movie I've ever seen, just 'okay'.

It made me curious for the book so it did something right

I actually liked the movie. It comes out tomorrow and I am buying it. I did hate the added crap with Karp at the end. It was unnecessary considering that if they were going to do that, it would have been the end of Frostbite. I doubt we will get Frostbite considering it didn't do very well at all which is a shame because I wanted to see who they would cast as Adrian. I actually liked the casting especially Christian, wasn't that a pleasant surprise!

Hi i'm new but that's besides the point.

I think the directors tried to make the movie into something it wasn't.
Sure the book is mainly dealing with high school and teens but it wasn't like a mean girls type book.
But it is still a supernatural book.

Other than that it wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either.

I agree. The first movie was eh. I was very disappointed.

The books are amazing! It's so sad how some film adaptations are flops especially when the books are great.

The book was okay-good. Nothing that mind blowing in this series. Anyway, the movie just made it seem horrible-bad. The book wasn't horrible, the movie was.

For the people who are being "negative", this movie has a different writer and a different director.. So give them another chance! If you don't want to, then don't. But please stop spreading so much hate about the movie. There are others who would like to see the movies continue on. You have your opinions, and have ours.

I loved the movie. Yes, they could have slowed it down but I still enjoyed.

I kinda grew on Dimitri. He wasn't like I had thought he would be, but good regardless.

The main problem IMO is the directing and the script. Vampire Academy shouldn't be like Mean girls. The movie lacked in depth and was just another average highschool teen drama whereas the books showed some real thought and struggle.

I'm most annoyed about the fact that the romance between Dimitri and Rose got so little attention. The struggle between their feelings and what's right was the best part in books and yet it was almost completely ignored in the movie.

I just hope that if they somehow manage to get the sequel out that they really listen to their fans, and not just ask for their money. It's crazy to assume that fans could finance the movie in the first place.
