What do you think?

If his family had moved money into other individual's accounts, e.g. his wife or kids', I sure hope they lose it.

Usako (bbmeltdown) 150 years. No parole.

If his wife and children touched the money, I think they're at fault.

Sarah | 13814 comments I think he deserved the 150 years. I don't think it makes much difference to those whose money he stole.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I hope there's some hard labor involved with Mr. Madoff's term in prison. There should be.

The prison term itself doesn't affect me that much, but they should have fined the living hell out of him, so that his family wouldn't have much, kind of like the way he left some of his investors.

Madoff's on his way to Federal Pound-Me-In-The-Ass prison.

Ahem.

*ew!*

From what I slightly know, yes he does deserve to do a lot of time.

Come on now...everyone knows where my quote is from!

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments No, Gus, where?

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Office Space! Remember? When Peter's dreaming about being sentenced for the crime of embezzling all that money from Initech, and the judge sentences Samir and Michael Bolton to 3 years in a Federal Pound-Me-In-The-Ass prison.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I need to watch Office Space a few more times, I guess...
I fixate on the flair. And the stapler.

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Jennifer Aniston is underrated in that movie. How come she never talks about Office Space?

That movie rocked. I like the scene where they're riding in the car and she says "so how is that not illegal?"

message 14: by Usako (new)

Usako (bbmeltdown) *smashes a fax machine*

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Eh. Anyone could have played Joanna. Nothing special about Jennifer Aniston's performance, except for her reaction when she learns she and Peter both share a fondness for Kung Fu.

Sarah | 13814 comments I love Office Space.

Alec Baldwin wrote a piece in HuffPost today suggesting that instead of 150 years, Madoff get a lesser sentence in exchange for telling everything he did, and working with authorities to keep anyone else from ever doing it again. Like the kid from Catch Me If You Can.

message 17: by Meen (new)

Meen (meendee) | 1733 comments That's not a bad idea. We already know to stop stuff like that from happening again they need more regulation, and he can clue them in on what to look for. BUT, he chose a bad time to be a swindler, so he's gonna have to be made a very strong example of.

Sure, I'm okay with cutting his sentence down to 50 years.

He's 71, right?
