Cat (cheonsaaa_cat) | 3 comments How do people get so many other people to read (and like) their stories in the Creative Writing tab? I'm just wondering because I noticed there are a lot of sad, lonely stories that just sit there with zero likes... and have been there for quite a while. On the other hand, there are some really popular stories with hundreds and/or tens of likes. I'm just curious. Is there a way people put themselves out there, and that's how they get so many likes on their stories?

Poor unread stories... :(

Is it too much to ask if people will read my writing, too? https://www.goodreads.com/story/list/...

Gabby | 906 comments Umm, my stories get read because I post them in competitions and stuff like that (like our "Picture me a story" thread) and then I guess adding tags helps so when people are looking for a genre/topic they can find them. Also having your profile public also helps haha :)
Also, joining a writing group might help as well.

Sorry this is all the advice I can think of. Hope it helps.

You can post them in competitions? I've done everything else; join a writing group...? Hmm. I'll think about it.

Thank you!

You'll have to read the rules first. Some writing groups say not to add an already exisiting book to the competition; some others might let you. I think you just have to ask.

But all my short stories were created for competitions and threads, not written before the competitions etc existed.

hope that makes sense haha.
