How to find my old posts / comments

Thank you Shanna.

You need to start a thread in the "unsolved" folder with these plot details. Make sure you add some plot details to your header too.

You should be able to verify your email address in your Profile section. Try the Settings tab -- https://www.goodreads.com/user/edit

Mandy, here are your comments in this group - https://www.goodreads.com/group/185-w...
You're probably looking for this request - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Your recent posts might appear on your profile page. But for old posts, use the full desktop (not mobile) website. Click your avatar image in the upper right, then "My Comments" in the drop-down menu. (You can also use the Group > Members > Search box, but it takes more time.)
Some members also bookmark their requests using their internet browser.

ConnieD wrote: "Is there a way to mark or get notified on comments on someone else's posts? Like if I see someone asking about a book I also want to know?"
Good question, ConnieD.
On the full desktop website, click Notify me when people comment at the bottom of the thread/page.
On the mobile app, click Topic Notification Settings at the bottom of the thread/page. You can select "Notify me when the topic "[name-of-topic]" is updated."
Please do not simply bump someone else's thread just to receive notifications. Imagine if everyone did that and how cluttered the threads would become.

Satsuma, if it's not working for you the only advice I can give is to post in the Feedback Group. We're not able to solve actual bugs here in this group.
Satsuma wrote: "Or you can type your username or topic in search for discussions."
wow. did not know that.
wow. did not know that.

Are you using the app, or the desktop site on a computer? I know that people often complain that the app is really buggy. You might try posting in the official Feedback Group here
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1
If there's something going wrong staff will be better able to help figure it out and get it fixed.
If you do post over there, make sure to give them as much info about what you're trying to do and what devices/browser/operating system etc you're using as you can, since they'll ask for that anyway might as well include it from the beginning to save time.

Hey thanks I figured out wouldn't let me post while using the app so jumped on the desktop version and now it's working. Thanks

Glad you got it worked out! :)

Solutions are described in messages 2 and 42. The direct link is in the https://www.goodreads.com/group/185-w... + user id (found in the profile page URL) format.
For your comments it's: https://www.goodreads.com/group/185-w...

I'm guessing this https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... is the one you wanted to bump because your new thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... looks like its duplicate?
Thanks for the catch, Ayshe. I deleted the duplicate thread.
Wendy, thanks for asking that question. To bump your thread, just post a new comment at bottom of the page. You can do this every 30+ days - or sooner if you have new information. (We're a very large group, so we need this limit.)
Here are some ways to find your old posts:
- Add a bookmark using your web browser.
- On the desktop site, click your avatar image in the top right corner. Then click "Comments" in the drop-down menu.
- If you post a lot in different groups, click "Members" in our Group menu on the desktop site. Search for your name, then click the "# comments" beside your name.

Finding old posts is tricky until you discover the "hidden" features on Goodreads. The "Comments" link is always available when you're signed in on the desktop site. One way is to click your tiny avatar image in the upper right corner of the page. Your personal drop-down menu will appear with your "Comments" link.

In that case, you need someone on a PC to create the link for you! Here you are: https://www.goodreads.com/group/185-w...
Bobbi, nope, the app seriously sucks and we mods from all the groups have been complaining for years.

[\

I started my own group (Just for Fun -> Too Much Information), and posted a closed topic in the general discussion area that has links to all of my requests (I hope), so I can see the solved ones (which has prevented me from asking for the same book as has already been solved), and my possibles and current bumps/unsolveds - as well as another topic for other people's unsolved books that I'm interested in.

ETA: as to how to do it. If you're on the desktop version of the site you can hover over your own profile pic next to a comment you have posted and then click "see comment history" in the pop-up. Or if you don't have a comment you can do that with, you can click your profile pic in the top right of every screen (the round one) and choose comments from the dropdown menu, that will show you all comments you've made on GR.
Unfortunately, I don't use the app so I can't suggest methods for that version of GR.
Please note the bump period for Unsolved book requests is 30+ days in this large group - or sooner if you remember more information.
