Purr More (m222) | 41 comments There are two different entries for this book. One has an ISBN and one doesn't.

Real Vampires Hate Their Thighs by Gerry Bartlett

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 35 comments I merged the two, updated the title of the one with the ISBNs to include the series information. Unfortunately a super-librarian will need to delete the entry with no information, as it has too many reviews associated with it for me to do so.

Got it.

message 4: by Charli (new)

Charli (charlio) | 3 comments I was trying to combine these (same book, different editions; author's name put in with different initial spaces) but couldn't because the the author is a goodreads author. Help?

Melody (runningtune) | 13300 comments You can message the author and ask them to make the change. They are the only one who can correct them.

message 6: by Charli (new)

Charli (charlio) | 3 comments Thank you, Melody!

message 7: by Cait (new)

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Charli, you can also directly edit the book to put in the GR author's name, although that's a pain if there's more than one or two books which need to be shifted.

message 8: by Charli (new)

Charli (charlio) | 3 comments Thank you, Cait, that worked. I was able to change then combine. :-)

message 9: by Melody (new)

Melody (runningtune) | 13300 comments I'm glad to know that Cait.

Kara Babcock (tachyondecay) | 63 comments I combined each of those three books to which you've linked, Michelle. But a super-librarian will have to delete the duplicate editions.

And no worries about finding all the books! That's what librarians are here for ... we like to organize things. Incidentally, there's a dedicated topic for deleting books.

I got all three duplicates.

message 15: by Valeria (new)

Valeria (valdej) | 8 comments Hi,

I need the help of a super-librarian :)

This edition: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/55... is a duplicate (with incomplete data) of this edition: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16... . I checked carefully, and I'm sure of it.

But I can't do the whole "separate-merge-delete-combine again" thing because the incomplete duplicate has 7 reviews.

Thanks!
Val

message 16: by Melody (new)

Melody (runningtune) | 13300 comments I got the duplicate and merged it back with the other editions.

stormhawk | 12 comments http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/41...

I merged the Kindle and Print editions into one listing, but for some reason, although I started with the print as primary and tried to add the Kindle into that, the database for some reason decided to make the Kindle the Primary edition ... couldn't find a way to swap them back around.

Could I get a little help with this, please? Thanx.

This Is Not The Michael You're Looking For | 949 comments I think it's fixed now; sometimes when you combine the cache gets confused over which book is most popular.

message 20: by Purr More (new)

Purr More (m222) | 41 comments I think these two are the same book. The ISBN for the untitled version brings up the titled version on Amazon.

I suspect these two books are the same:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/52...
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/46...
I cant delete the second because of the votes.
Thanks

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 2400 comments cat, You're right. I got the second one. Thanks.

message 25: by the_cat (new)

the_cat | 388 comments K new one:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/14...
The second has an invalid ISBN taken from half the ISBN-13. They are the same book.
Thanks in advance

Got it. (For future reference, if you can separate just the two affected editions, it makes it easier. Thanks!)

Indeed. Merged!

Thanks. :)

message 29: by Svetlana (new)

Svetlana Kovalkova-McKenna | 2 comments I am the author of Vasilisa and the Queen of Asps Vasilisa and the Queen of Asps by Svetlana Kovalkova-McKenna . The book has 3 editions. Somehow, the friend on Goodreads have added a 4th edition of my book that does not exist. The listing for it has no isbn or picture. I have tried deleting it but I do not have super librarian status. Here is the link:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/70...
Can someone help?

message 30: by vicki_girl (new)

vicki_girl | 2764 comments I'm not sure why you couldn't delete it, but it didn't need a super. I got it for you.

Purr More (m222) | 41 comments thanks Cait!

message 35: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 2400 comments Thanks. Bethaney.

Actually, by the time I got to it the one with the picture did have the ISBNs.

Generally with this situation, I will transfer the ISBNs to the one with all the information such as cover image, taking the ISBNs off the otherwise empty edition, then I'll combine them if not already combined and delete that latter edition.

message 38: by Lara Amber (new)

Lara Amber (laraamber) | 6 comments There are multiple copies of Stephen King's UR. I got rid of the ones I could, but there are still extra that had enough reviews on them it requires a superuser.

Dori (dorifritzinger) | 4 comments Help - I only have 3 books that are on the store shelves and the site lists others that were later killed (they were all part of my learning) Here is a list of the vaild books:

A Journey Through My Country Life
978-0-557-20099-3

From My Family Recipe Box
978-0-557-08282-7

Soups and Stews
E-Book

message 42: by Cait (last edited Dec 20, 2009 09:37AM) (new)

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Dori, if your earlier books are now out of print, you can modify their descriptions to indicate this, but the GR catalog keeps all books listed, even those no longer available. (If you'd like to tie your user profile to your authorship of these books, go to the author profile and click on this "Is this you?" link. If you'd rather a librarian modify them for you, just let us know what you'd like them to say!)

If "From the Recipe Box" is an earlier edition of "From My Family Recipe Box", by the way, the usual way of indicating this is to have them all combined as editions of one book; then readers can easily see which is the most recently published. Is that the case with these books?

Also: I corrected these, but please be sure when you're adding books with 13-digit ISBNs that you put that in the ISBN-13 field, not the ISBN field -- otherwise the last three digits are cut off!

message 43: by Dori (new)

Dori (dorifritzinger) | 4 comments Yes "From the Recipe Box" was the earlier out-of-print edition of "From My Family Recipe Box" The I would like to also add the pictures of thecovers to the listings.

"A Journey Through My Country Life" is also the same situation.

By the e-book we are getting better at this - I hope.

Thank You for all your help. Now to get some sold.

Dori
