The local swimming pool.

Eira walked with Jake down to the pool, hand in hand.

Jake, not being able to concentrate, was making an illusion on his hand. It was a little blue snowflake tattoo on the back of his hand. It glowed softly.

"So... What's on your mind?" She asked him.

Jake looked up. "Well, I dunno. I didnt get much sleep last night." He admitted.

"Ah. Why is that?" She asked curiously. She slid off her coverup and flip flops and set them in a lawn hair.

Jake shrugged. "Couldnt sleep." He said simply. He started drawing on his hand again.

"ok..." Eira shrugged awkwardly. She really wasn't helpful in situations like this. She moved her hair out of her face and jogged toward the pools diving board. She did a neat swan dive and plunged down towards the bottom.

Jake chuckled. The tattoo disappeared as he sat at the edge.

Eira swam under the surface of the pool, propelling herself along by shooting snow from her hands. The snow melted quickly, but still made the pool colder. She popped her head up out of the water, still a couple feet from Jake.

Jake leaned over the water. "Having fun?" He asked with a smirk. He hadnt told her about the curse...

((Whaaaaaat?! lol))

"Mmhhmm. You should join me." She said swimming closer and pulling herself up on the ledge.

((lolol plot twist.))

Jake chuckled. "I dont know if thats a hot idea." He said quietly.

((Aaaahhhhhhh))

"What do you mean?" She asked him as she kicked her legs in the water.

"Well, um." Jake sighed. "I'll sink. Like lead." He finally admitted.

"What? What do you mean?" Asked Eira confused. He had to be pulling her leg.

Jake slid off the edge into the water. He stayed up for a second. Then he just sank to the bottom.

((Should Eira pull him up?))

((He can breathe. *shrug*))

Eira frowned and dove down to him.

Jake watched her. He sat at the bottom of the pool casually. Even more shocking, he was breathing.

((Can Eira make an ice bubble? Like a hollow sphere and she can sit inside? Lol))

Eira let out a small stream of bubbles and age pushed off to get another gulp of air. Jake was breathing underwater.

Jake watched her. She probably thought he was crazy. I mean really. He can BREATHE underwater.

Eira thought a second when an idea popped into her head. She surrounded herself in a clear I've bubble and it slowly sunk down to Jake.

Jake blinked. "Hey." He said with a smirk as her bubble surrounded him too.

"So... Care to explain?" She asked him, crossing her legs.

"Well... A couple years ago, I met someone. She was kind of creepy... But Ruby fell in the river... The creepy woman told me I could save her for a price. Of course I said yes."

"and?" eira asked nervously playing with her hair.

"And she gave me the ability to breathe, speak, and see with ease in the water... The price was I couldnt swim or float in it. I sink like lead."

"Well that's lame." Eira hook her head. Why would someone do that? Give someone a super cool ability but couldn't effectively use t.

"But then how did you save Ruby?" She asked suddenly.

"I picked her up and walked up out of the water with her." Jake shrugged. "Id rather save someones life then be able to float."

"So you just walked out...." Eira repeated. "Well the witch musnt of been happy about that." Eira commented mainly to herself.

"Ah well. It was part of the deal." Jake said with a shrug. "And thats how Ruby and I got so close. I've protected her since we were little."

"i see. Well, I'm glad that you could still come here with me. she said moving closer and resting her head on his shoulder.

Jake smiled. He wrapped his arm around her. "Anything you want."

Eira smiled and looked up out of the bubble.

Jake looked up too. The water was shimmering with colors of yellow and orange. "Wow we stayed down here until sundown. C'mon!" He smiled and pulled her to the surface, then got out and put a towel around his neck.

Eira laughed and let the ice bubble shatter. It was really amazing how the air bubble floated up with them as they broke the surface. Jake pulled Eira out of the pool and she grappled a towel.

Jake ruffed up his hair with his towel. He left it on his head and smirked at Eira. "Now you know." He stared at the horizon beyond the town.

"Yup. This is the part tht I would tell you my secret.... But I don't have one." Rita shrugged.

"None at all?" Jake asked. "Then at least tell me about you. You hardly talk about yourself. I wanna know about you. All I know is you like snow, coffee, penguins, and Frozen."

"That's all there is to me. I'm not a complex person." She said calmly. There was one part of her she kept hidden, but it's hidden from herself too.

"Well what don't you like? What's your favorite color? Favorite place to be?" Jake asked, staring at the sky.

"I don't like the beach, my favorite color is white, and my favorite place to be... Is probably a mountain." She listed, ticking them off on her fingers.

"Mm." Jake said in understanding. "I knew you'd say that." He smirked.

"im pretty perdictable." Eira shrugged.

Jake chuckled. "Or maybe I just know you too well." He replied with a smirk.

"Maybe." She said giving a small smile as she turned to look at him.
