Mix CD Swap

I'd like to...but I'm not entirely sure yet as most of ye live in America, I live on a different continent!

Oh,and to those of you who don't live in the US, I don't mind sending CD's out of the country, I figure you're spending the same amount of money to send the CD to me anyway.

I'm going to split this up into two groups (16 seems like a little much) when I get home this afternoon and will post them. It's going to be up to each individual to get the addresses/info they need. There are no doubled up names, so you can find the people in your group in the discussion here/Song Recommendations or as voters on the poll.

Nools, that might be easier. I can do the other group if no one else wants to.

I'd be glad to help out with that.

GROUP ONE:
Annushu
Annette
R
Lynn
Heather
Kimberly
Michelle
Jamie
Sarah
GROUP TWO:
Danielle
Summer
Roisu
Matt
Amanda
Emily
Justine
Nools
Liz
So Kimberly and Nools, you guys can be in charge of addresses and sending because you wound up being in different groups.

A couple rules for Group Two to make things easier:
1. Postmark deadline
2. Names on the CDs please (as in your own names/nickname)! So that they don't get mixed up.
3. (optional!!) It can be nice when people get craftsy or at least include a quick and dirty list of the tracklist/artists.

It'll give everyone more time to put thought into their selection. : ) Should we do themes or require cover art or something? Like a personal manifesto mix or... whatever?

Nools, I'm sorry, but can you plase explain what a SASE is? Do you mean something which is prepaid to be sent back to us? I don't know about everyone else, but if I have to ship something I usually buy one of those ready post boxes at the post office--if anyone figures out if any of them are an ideal size, perhaps they could post it on here.
Also, I don't mind extending the postage deadline, but whatever works for other people is okay with me.

Or it can be a folded pre-paid(/stamped) shipping box, if you don't mind the extra pay and wanted to make sure they didn't break or something. *If you ask the post-office person, they can give you an estimate on the cost. It should be similar to the price of sending your own 8 CDs (same distance, same weight); you'll be buying postage for both ways.
This way, everyone pays for their own shipping only.

1.) Does it matter what types of songs go on these 6 discs?
2.) I am trying to figure out an SASE, that would be big enough and easy to send.
3.) What is a postmark deadline?
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

In response to Sarah's questions:
1) I think anything goes. (I rather like Nools' idea of picking a theme, though. What do you think, guys?)
2) I'm afraid I can't help you with that yet because I'm trying to figure it out myself!
3) Essentially, that means that you should mail your CDs by 1st August
Not being an American resident (and hence having no access to US stamps), I'm afraid I can't do SASEs for within the US; and the postal service here doesn't do International Reply Coupons... Can anyone think of any other options I might have for paying my intra-US shipping? I'll head down to the post office tomorrow to make enquiries, but any ideas would be greatly appreciated! :D

You can send it anytime, just as long as you send it out by the 29th.

I'll stop by the post office on my way home from work today and ask which kind of packaging would be best, and then post the answer here.

yeah i recently burned some nice tracks on my cd and also an mj favorite (billie jean)

Tracks: I would think that you would just fill up the cd with as many songs as you can. Themes are definitely okay. Anything goes, but I would like to suggest thinking of your recipients - maybe not sending a Twilight mix if you know everyone else in your group hates Twilight or (and this is JUST AN EXAMPLE, I'm really not trying to be rude) if SBG was playing, you wouldn't send her a CD full of thrash metal or songs where every other word is a swear word, you know? Not that I think any of us are that sensitive (or insensitive as a sender), but...helpful hint I guess.
SASE: I think sending a semi-large PADDED mailer envelope would be sufficient and I would use the cost of postage for the envelope you are sending off as a the amount to use for the envelope you're getting back. I would even put a little extra postage on it, so that you'll definitely be covered.

Where we are right now:
8 swappers (Justine, Lynn, Jamie, Matt, Nools, Heather, Annette, Annushu). Please feel free to join in if your name is not listed - I think this is going to be a lot of fun.
A poll has been created to see how everyone wants to go about this. It will be open until the 8th in case anyone else wants to get involved. We can deal with getting addresses as soon as the poll is over or people stop voting on it.
From that point, I think all mixes should go out by July 31.
