Addicted to YA discussion

Here's the scenario. I'm writing a couple sentence blurb about a group of shallow girls. They are in the 18 to 20 year old range. What would a well-centered girl think made this group "shallow?" Only caring about what clothes they wore, jewelry...what????

Only caring about what they look like. Their reputation.

Thinking they are bigger and better than everyone else, maybe even laughing or bullying other girls, usually they are the popular girls. They gather around boys, and think they're loved by everyone, hope this helps :)

This is for a dystopia set 150 years in the future. I don't know if those words would be applicable. LOL...I'd hope that by that time we'd have other things to ostracize people with...like maybe what planet they came from or something *snort-giggle*

I would think that they would want personal belongings other than helping a friend in need...or even a stranger. Or that they would keep everything to themselves that important like food, clothing, water, etc.
