KingKiller (thekingkiller) | 5 comments Just finished a rewatch and it's my favourite show, so I really want to read something similar (strangers bought together, relationships form, good characterisation etc).

If they're stranded on an island it's a bonus but I posted in YA as I don't mind a recommendation like the Gone series, which is a series I really enjoyed.

Effectively I'm looking for a decent post-apocalyptic series which has similar characteristics to Lost (banding together to survive, good character development). I actually like romance in books as long as it's done right, but if it's stupid and insta-love then I can't stand it. I'm 50% into The Fifth Wave and can't see myself finishing it, it's ridiculous.

Heidi My favorite dystopian series ever is The Knife of Never Letting Go The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness - no Mary Sue types characters and no insta-love.

Heidi Hahahaha! Yay! I have not really found another series that holds a candle to Chaos Walking. I know others like Divergent Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth but it was not for me. The Fifth Wave was very disappointing to me because I love the authors The Monstrumologist (The Monstrumologist, #1) by Rick Yancey The Monstrumologist series. Have you read Ready Player One Ready Player One by Ernest Cline or Rot and Ruin Rot and Ruin (Benny Imura, #1) by Jonathan Maberry ? Those are both kind of band together type books/series and I enjoyed both.

I wasn't a huge fan of Divergent either, stopped at book 2. Have read Rot and Ruin and it didn't entice me enough to want to read the series but that's exactly the type of book I'm looking for. Will look into Ready Player One, cheers

Christine | 25 comments Have you tried Gone (Gone, #1) by Michael Grant ? It isn't as good,IMO, as Chaos Walking, but it might work for you.

KingKiller (thekingkiller) | 5 comments The Gone series is my second favourite YA dystopian after Chaos Walking.
