A World Without Sun discussion

Espy narrowed her eyes. She slipped off the bed and pressed herself against the wall by the door. Ready to jump.

"Hey. It's just me." Zanderr whispered through the door, putting his hands on either side on the frame and waited for her to open the door.

Espy sighed with relief. She slowly opened the door. She smiled lightly.

Zanderr smiled when she opened the door and dropped his hands to his side. "You're in luck. No one stopped by today."

She nodded. "Thank you again!" She smiled.

He smiled and shrugged. "I didn't do anything."

"You make me feel better..."

He took a step closer to her and raised an eyebrow. "How so?"

"I..." She blushed.

"You're blushing." He pointed out.

"Maybe.."

"Maybe? It's quite clear. I can see you blushing." He told her, bringing a hand up to brush against her blush.

She blushed deeper. "I don't blush..."

His thumb skimmed across her blush. "Well you are now."

She looked up into his eyes.

He met her eyes and smiled slightly. "Can I come in yet?" He asked playfully.

"Oh uh.. Yeah.." She opened the door

He rolled his eyes and stopped inside her room, glancing around. "How are you getting settled in, by the way?"

She sighed. "The bed comfy?"

He raised an eyebrow. "Really? I would thought it wasn't."

"Not really. My bed at home is better..."

He nodded and sat down on her bed. "Yeah. That's what I thought."

"You've slept on one before?" She asked.

He laughed softly and shook his head. "No. I mean I kind of assumed outside beds were better."

He blushed and sat beside him. "They are..."

He bumped his shoulder against hers. "You're blushing again." Zanderr whispered.

She shoved him back. "Oh good for me"

He laughed and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. "You're pretty when you blush."

She shook her. "Stop... I'm not..."

He dropped his hand in his lap and looked down at the floor.

Espy felt bad now. "Why do I feel bad! Oh stop don't..." She sighed and leaned her head against his shoulder.

Zanderr glanced over at her in confusion. "What?" He asked as he wrapped an arm around her waist.

She sighed leaning against him. "I'm sorry.."

"What are you sorry for?" He asked, pulling her closer.

"Being mean?"

"You aren't being mean."

She sighed

He pulled away and rolled off of her bed so he was crouched in front of her. "Espy. Are you okay?"

She looked into his eyes. "This is all... Why am I here. Why me?"

He met her eyes and rested his hands on her knees. "I don't know why it was you. Of all people. But I'm sorry. You don't deserve to be here."

She placed her hand on top of his. She smiled. Then cried

His eyes widened when he saw her tears. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her down on his lap. "Shh....it's okay..." Zanderr whispered, stroking her hair.

She buried her face in his neck. She wasn't this weak but... This was horrible!

He held her close and continued stroking her hair. He would just let her cry. But comfort her while she did.

She sniffled. "I-I d-don't usually c-cry.." She whispered between sobs.

"It's okay to cry every now and again." He widowed, kissing the top of her head. "If not, the emotions would bottle up and you would explode."

She nodded and gripped his shirt in between her fingers. She leaned up and kissed him. She couldn't help herself.

He froze when he felt her soft, warm lips against his. After a second, he relaxed and started to kiss her back.

Espy wrapped her arms around his neck. She tasted her salty tears.

Zanderr wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer, and cupped her cheek with his other hand, wiping away her tears a little as he continued kissing her.
