I'm a blogger. Not a powerhouse political blogger, not even a though provoking, deep thoughts kind of blogger. Mostly just a mom blogger. Anyone else? Here's my link http://daysofus.blogspot.com/
A really cool thing with Goodreads is you can add all your favorite quotes and get a widget to put it on your blog. I am a quotes junkie.
Share your blog addy if you have one. I love to read them almost as much as books. :)

I KNOW for certain there are some bloggers in this group. Share share share!

message 3: by Christy (new)

Christy (cc730) | 13 comments I have a blog - it's totally random, mainly about my kids and knitting and/or other hobbies. American Idol. College football in the fall. Maybe some basketball once the tournament starts. Basically, whatever I feel like writing about, whenever I feel like writing (which means sometimes there's large gaps).

Jackie (findingjackie) | 214 comments I'm lazy. I do LJ for daily journaling type of stuff. I do have 2 blogs, one is for writing projects and it is not published to the web. The only other blog I use it to track a project I'm doing called 101 in 1001. It's a list of 101 things to do in 1001 days.

Jules (juliemetz) | 27 comments I second that blog lovin' Tera. I have found so many new and interesting things to read (in blogland). I love that unique perspective everyone gives to their own situations and lives. The only downfall is I find myself getting "lost" clicking from ones blogger's fave blogs to read to the next...and hours later......you get the point. But more so it has brought many smiles to my face, so thank you, thank you.

I really encourage everyone to check out the blogs posted above. (and to post or start your own if you havent) These women have great voices with some great, funny, serious, interesting, relateable things to say.

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) hey tera! thanks for taking a look-see at my blog & for the warm welcome! not to toot my own horn here, but i 2nd your encouragement for everyone to check out the blogs above and to start one if you don't have one! thanks also for saying that we "have great voices with some great, funny, serious, interesting, relateable things to say!" i, for one, am flattered! (positive feedback is a wonderful thing!)

Amanda (randymandy) | 467 comments Yep, the blogs are quite enjoyable. I've been trying to check them all out daily. (I started a blog a couple years ago, but never wrote anything in it. Haha.)

Anyway, Sara, read your blog post today about Charlotte's Web. You had me choking back tears, reading about you choking back tears. I cannot put it to words, but I UNDERSTAND. The older I get, the more teary I get. And I've never been a cryer. Anyway, I think it might have something to do with realizing that the world is not as rosy as I thought it was when I was a kid. So anytime I read/see/hear something touching it has a much more profound effect on me than it would have as a child...

I'm sure a lot of you already know but I was giddy when I found it so I'll share. If you go to your Books page and in that page over the "search my books" box is a list of links under 'tools' if you click the "widgets" you can add your good reads to your blog. And if you have added any quotes to your page. (I love a good quote) you can add the quote widget to your blog and it will randomly display your favorite quotes on your blog. A fun tool.

message 16: by Sara (new)

Sara | 53 comments I know Amanda...I KNOW! I think that's exactly why I was so weirdly choked up by Charlotte's Web. Cause there isn't always a faithful spider to spin a web and save us from falling...

message 17: by Devon (last edited Feb 27, 2008 06:44AM) (new)

Devon | 1 comments Hi, Thanks for all the new blogs to read! I blog fairly regularly. Most of my blogs have to do with the crazy, ridiculous men that populate my world. They are often equal parts funny and pathetic. I often wish they were a little less of both, but then I wouldn't have anything to blog about!

message 21: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 0 comments I've heard a lot about bloggers, am intrigued to start my own. What does one blog about? I'm guessing it's probably a little less intense than an online journal? Looking for ideas, setting up my address right now...

Kristen I actually keep two blogs. One a bit better than the other. One I keep is for my family like a type of family history. The other is mine. I post about what im working on or recipes I tried and hopefully will develope it more so in the near future.
The blogs here are great take a look at them and you will see all diferent types of uses for their blogs sharing, venting, self discovery. I think its a great tool. For some reason putting something down in words and letting it out to the world is theraputic for me. Even if its just a post about making cookies.

Jo I wish you could come and join me! Sometimes when my house is a mess or I just need to feel something other than the mundane I go out there. I dont even do anything just to check on the flowers or my rose bush (one of which isnt doing so well for some reason) and I feel better about life. There is something about it that clears me and fills me up to go back inside and clean a toilet or pick up smooshed in fruit loops from the carpet with a smile.

message 31: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth I blog about science and sex at http://www.wisdomofwhores.com. A lot of people assume from the url that it's clit lit, but I'm actually an epidemiologist specialising in HIV. The blog was mentioned in an op-ed piece I did recently about the Spitzer nonsense, and I found that I got a huge amount of support from escorts and other working women, many of whom have great blogs.

Ok I have to say "WOW". If you havent yet take a few minutes and read through all the blogs listed. Especially if youre in a book slump (like I am now). The best reads out there that arent in the pages of a book.
Thanks again to everyone for sharing with us.

Rolana | 22 comments I am a blog addict! I love searching and finding new blogs to read! I hope everyone checks out each others blogs.

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) tera ~ about your comment above from 3/20 about gardening -

i don't know what it is about gardening! nothing soothes me more, nothing out of my hobbies gives me as much joy, nothing makes me feel more connected and alive! there's a quote, something about 'gardening is my church' because, for some, the connection to the earth & nature is spiritual & therefore there's a connection to God as well... i'll have to see if i can dig that one up! i can be out there, in the dirt, doing what ever for HOURS & not want to go back inside!

for each of us, i think, there are certain things that make us feel human- it can be literally things like books or a great cup of tea or lighting candles or taking a long quiet soak in the tub, or it's the act of journaling, taking a walk... for me, there are many things i feel this way about, but, a great shower after not being able to for a few days when i'm sick is 1 and another is anything to do with gardening!

sorry to get a bit off topic here! just wanted to repond!

message 35: by Jo (new)

Jo I have two questions completely unrelated...

1. can a blog be written anonymously? How does I start an anonymous blog

2. I want to garden. Not the kind with vegetables and herbs, but plants, shrubs, etc... I have no idea how to get started. I am not the least bit creative. I went to Barnes & Noble to see if I could find a book for amateurs like me and all I could find was Gardening for Dummies which did not appeal to me at all. All the rest overwhelmed me. So, what do I do.

Any help or guidance on either topic would be most appreciated.

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) if you go to blogger & begin the sign up process (it's free), you'll eventually come to where you can type in a screen name which is shown to everyone and there you can type in any name you like or even just 'anonymous'. you have to have an email address, but you can check off a box that will make it private & no one but you will ever see it.

w/respect to gardening, any of the "reader's digest illustrated guide to gardening" books are great, regardless of the year they come out. it does include veggies, but, it gives you an overview on everything you need to know to grow & take care of flowers & shrubs. (it's actually 1 of 2 text books for my gardening & landscape design course).

if you're looking for idea's on how to make & arrange a garden, it's got info on that too! there's really an awesome amount of info in there!

i'd try going to the library & looking through their gardening books. also, ask the reference librarian if he or she can help you locate books on flowers & shrubs that are native to where you live & will be easier to grow where you are.

lastly, i'd stay away from a - z encyclopedia type gardening books, they won't offer much help to you in the beginning stages of the game!

if i can be of any more help (assuming that i have been!), feel free to ask more Q's!
