Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

This book has a bad ISBN, but I can't find the right one anywhere. It's a Spanish translation of a French graphic novel. I found a page for it on the publisher's site here, but I don't see an ISBN there. WorldCat doesn't have it. Amazon (.com, .co.uk, and .fr) doesn't list it. Biblioteca Nacional de España doesn't *seem* to have it (this is my first visit there, and I don't speak Spanish).

Any ideas?

BTW - I really thought the system would at least check to see that ISBNs have the right number of digits. Doesn't it do any validation, other than checking to see if the ISBN is a duplicate?

It looks like that book was manually added (the user probably pasted the ISBN-13 into the ISBN-10 field by accident), so you could message that user and ask them to double-check their book.

There isn't any validation on the ISBN fields, no, although the ISBN-10 field will truncate to 10 characters -- as we see here!
