Welcome to the group, Gordon!
May I ask though that you introduce yourself in the introductions thread, rather than in this one? Thanks!

I just released a winter-themed children's picture book, and I want to give away a few digital copies in exchange for a review. Is it OK to post such a thing in this group?

Hi Kevin,
Yes, it is. Start a thread (new topic) in the "From authors to readers" section, giving details of the book and how people can get hold of a copy.

I'm new to the group and look forward to sharing and learning from others. I write and illustrate children's stories and have recently had The True Story of Santa's Sleigh released. I'm presently giving away 3 copies of my book on Goodreads. My author site is christinekotowyczbooks.com
I look forward to hearing from you.
Hi Christine, and welcome to the group.
As I mentioned in a previous post on this thread though, could everyone please keep introductions to the thread we have for that, since I'm trying to keep this one spacifically for rule-related discussions. Thank you.

Thank you for having me in your group. I'm new to all this and couldn't seem to find the thread for introductions but I'm getting better at this each day.
Thank you to everyone who participated in my Giveaway of "The True Story of Santa's Sleigh". The winners have been selected and their books have been sent.
I hope those that entered the contest will have a chance to read my Christmas story , get into the Christmas Spirit and maybe provide me with some feedback.

That's quite alright. And I'm glad several people entered your contest.

Welcome. But - as I've mentioned every time someone has done it - please do not introduce yourself on this thread. We have an introductions thread for that, and I would prefer you to keep your introductions to that thread. Thank you.

Because of this, the basic rules for the site are just the following:
"Be polite, respect the opinions of others (even when they differ from your own) and remember that this is a child friendly group.
Other than that... Just have fun!"
However, I would also like to add the following:
*Before creating a new topic, please check if there is already one identical to it, so as to avoid multiple threads for discussing the exact same thing.
*A little off topic conversation is fine, where discussing one book has led to the mention of another, for example. But as a general rule, please try to keep discussions to the appropriate threads and folders.
*When joining in with games and challenges, please follow the rules for the game or challenge properly.
If you have any genuine questions about these rules, or the rules mentioned in any games or challenges, feel free to ask.
Also, I've noticed a habit of posting introductions on this thread. Please do not introduce yourself on this thread. We're delighted to have you join the group, but would appreciate it if you could keep introductions to the thread created for that purpose, and keep posts on this thread related to any questions you might have regarding the rules.
