Synopsis:

The forecast is dire: mostly gloomy with a hundred percent chance of death.

A severe thunderstorm is approaching the small, highway-bordered town of Jasper. Like all things, it will pass, but so will one of Jasper’s own before the night is through. This is the prophecy foretold by the town’s soothsayer, who claims that there will be a voice hidden within the storm’s roaring turbulence that will speak to its prey before claiming it. The people of Jasper feign skepticism. Secretly, they brace for the worst.

Who will be the one to die? Only the storm and its ultimate victim will know. What will the voice sound like? What will it say? No one wants to find out. For if the prophecy is true, whoever hears the voice of the storm won’t live to describe it.
