Caitlin (ct_hughes55) | 96 comments In August 2015 I plan to read:

We'll Always Have Paris: A Mother/Daughter Memoir
for my Mother/Daughter Read. (Read August 13, 2015.)
A Fractured Light (Read July 26, 2015)
to continue with the series. Not loving it, but I can't NOT read the book after that cliff hanger in A Beautiful Dark.
Tiger, Tigerfor the monthly theme read. (Finished August 24, 2015.)
A Radiant Sky to finish the trilogy. (Finished August 28, 2015.)

May not get to:
A Game of Thrones
because it'll probably take awhile but I need to get started on this series.
The English Teacher for the monthly challenge. (Won't be reading this August but I am intrigued and may read it later.)

(Pushed back to September.)My Life Next Door
to complete Connecticut in my 50 States of YA list/challenge.

Here's hoping August is this fruitful!

Janice (jamasc) | 59940 comments Some of these could morph their way to your first level in the serial killers challenge.

Caitlin (ct_hughes55) | 96 comments Definitely!

message 4: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin (ct_hughes55) | 96 comments This is my list of books currently sitting on my bookshelf (actual, physical bookshelf) that I would like to read before the end of time (within the next two years perhaps)

With a Tangled Skein
Wielding a Red Sword
Being a Green Mother
The Ox-Bow Incident
The Chocolate War
Love Medicine
Tracks
Eat, Pray, Love
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
The Final Planet
Catch-22
Brave New World
Blood Meridian, or the Evening Redness in the West
Beowulf on the Beach: What to Love and What to Skip in Literature's 50 Greatest Hits
The Time Traveler's Wife
1st to Die
Sundays at Tiffany's

So I feel like I have more book not read yet than read but I will work my way through these for sure!

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Great list there Caitlin. I have read many of them. :)

Almeta (menfrommarrs) | 11458 comments I find your list interesting and am going to spend more time investigating. There are a couple on your list that I have read and I feel that I only need to make a comment about Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Even though the title is hokey it is a pretty good read.

message 7: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin (ct_hughes55) | 96 comments Thanks guys! I already own all of these and have picked them up at one place or another so I think it's definitely time actually read them. There's some variety to them so I am sure I won't get bored!

message 8: by Almeta (new)

Almeta (menfrommarrs) | 11458 comments Ooops, I lingered too long. Why oh why didn't I escape when I had the chance? Several of your choices are now on my TBR shelves!☻

message 9: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59940 comments A few have made their way to my wishlist too.

message 10: by Cherie (last edited Jul 23, 2015 04:26PM) (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I agree with Almeta about Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The movie was okay - the best scene in the movie is during a fight in a herd of horses! I have had The Ox-Bow Incident on my list to read since Jan of 2014.

message 11: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments The Chocolate War would be the perfect book for this month's challenge!

message 12: by Caitlin (last edited Oct 12, 2015 02:46PM) (new)

Caitlin (ct_hughes55) | 96 comments For September and October 2015 I plan to read (some of these I plan to finish in this last little bit of August):

I will not be participating in challenges of themed reads this month as I have some of my own lists to work on.

A Radiant Sky (Finished August 28, 2015.)
To finish the Beautiful Dark Trilogy. (series challenge)
The Indigo Spell (Finished August 29, 2015)
Book 3 of the Bloodlines series. (series challenge)
The Fiery Heart (Finished September 13, 2015)
Book 4 of the Bloodlines series. (series challenge)
Silver Shadows (Finished October 11, 2015)
Book 5 of the Bloodlines series. (series challenge)
My Life Next Door(Finished September 16, 2015)
"Connecticut" in my 50 states of YA list.
The Unbearable Book Club for Unsinkable Girls
"Delaware" in my 50 states if YA list.
The Ox-Bow Incident
Physical bookshelf take down.
Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail
Mother/Daughter Read for October.

May have to wait for next November:
With a Tangled Skein
Physical bookshelf take down/Series Challenge.
A Game of Thrones
Had to finally return it to the library and bought it used. Now I can take my time. This is a "read little chunks at a time book."

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments LOL! I like your "Physical bookshelf take down". I seem to be adding more than taking away lately. At least I don't have to worry about them taking up room, like Sarah.

Thanks! We have a pretty small apartment and one of my bookshelves is "professional" containing grad school and museum theory books but the other books I think are sad at being collected and then not read. I mustn't neglect them!

Janice (jamasc) | 59940 comments "Beast of a book" is an apt description. I'm reading A Clash of Kings and I'm only on about page 120, and barely cracked it open.

Caitlin (ct_hughes55) | 96 comments New Year, time to get back into the swing of things! For 2016 I plan to read 36 books. That is just 3 books a month so hopefully I can accomplish it without a problem!

The Maze Runner Finished January 1, 2016
The Evolution of Mara Dyer Finished January 18, 2016
Prom Dates from Hell Finished January 21, 2016

Bonus Books:
Chasers of the Light: Poems from the Typewriter Series Finished January 4, 2016
The Sword of Summer Finished January 16, 2016

ALL JANUARY BOOKS FINISHED!!

message 17: by Caitlin (last edited Feb 10, 2016 05:53AM) (new)

Caitlin (ct_hughes55) | 96 comments I wanted to go ahead and write down my reading plans for February since the rest of the month is about to get hectic.

I plan to stick with the determined goal of 3 books a month! And this month I want to turn my attention to the Geocaching challenge and focus on trying to complete Chile.

For February I plan to read:
I Lived on Butterfly Hill
Hell Week Finished February 1, 2016
The House of the Spirits

I might fit in another book or two and once again I will add them below if I do. This remains my focus for now.

Bonus Books:
The Retribution of Mara Dyer Finished February 9 2016
The Scorch Trials
The 5th Wave

Janice (jamasc) | 59940 comments Three books a week, or three books a month?

I was just thinking about starting to plan my February reads... that time is rapidly approaching.

message 19: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin (ct_hughes55) | 96 comments A month, oh jeez! I cannot do a week for sure!

Janice (jamasc) | 59940 comments Caitlin wrote: "A month, oh jeez! I cannot do a week for sure!"

LOL! You never know. The more you read, the faster you read. You could work yourself up to reading 3 books a week at some point.

message 23: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin (ct_hughes55) | 96 comments Cherie wrote: "How do the Maggie Quinn books fit into the geocache challenge?"

Hell Week was the Rita Award winner for YA Romance in 2009. So it it the task of reading a Rita Award winner or nominee.

message 24: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Oh, good to know, Caitlin. I found a book for that, but it is always good to have a back up. :)

message 25: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin (ct_hughes55) | 96 comments Well I definitely fell off the wagon a bit with the museum opening to the public again in February and then hosting a few events. But I am going to take it slow and steady through school tour season.

Reading Plans for March - April
The House of the Spirits
The Scorch Trials
The 5th Wave

Bonus:
Hex Hall
Under the Blood-Red Sun

Let's see if I can get back on track!
