So, I'm reviewing indies as you know. Well, at the moment my internet is abit iffy so I'm going to start uploading next week. I was wondering, as authors, how do you like to know about spelling/formatting mistakes?

I feel alittle akward about mentioning it, but I'm going to. Even if it's just one teeny one and the books is already in print, would you like to be notified?

I know mine has some. Some I may have already corrected in the print version but not in the ebooks. (I neglected to do both at the same time so now I have to go through it all once more to correct the ebooks documents.)

Even if I had though, I can bet my life on it that there are still some that either escaped me or I didn't know better.

I'm not sure what you mean by notified though. If you mean telling me some of my mistakes/typos or whatever, by all mean, it'd be much appreciated. If it's just to tell me that my book has some, well... as stated I already know. :( I found many when proofreading the printed version.

I'm planning on re-publishing with the correction soon as I have a little time to breathe and revised the docs. :(

Haha, I just meant if people wanted to know at all. I read a comment on Twitter from someone who just didn't want to know bexause there was nothing they could do. Since I've read quite afew on my list now I've come across afew, its enevitable :] t's not like I'm beta reading where I actively look for mistakes so i thought i'd ask :3 calm down, Zulikmha :p

Should also mention I make a note of where it is, page number etc xP

I dont feel like I asked this question how I wanted too. *TreeBeard voice* It doesn't make sense to me. But then, I am very drunk.

Yikes! I hope my comments didn't come out harsh as it seems it may have! :(
I'm calm... couldn't be more calm. If I'm sweating, it's not because of mistakes/typos, but rather because of fever. :P

It's false to believe that you can't do anything because it's published. (At least for self-published authors) There is always something you can do, thinking otherwise is like hiding your head in the sand. Amazon accepts corrections all the time, and so does Smashwords.

So let me rephrase my last post. I'd love to know that I have mistakes/typos in my docs. I might know I have some now, but let's just say that I had done all the corrections and I thought I had caught them all, to learn that I have more might not make me jump with joy but I'd still love to know so I could try to do something about them.

Oh geez, if you have notes of them by all mean I WANT THEM... PRETTY PLEASE!

Neil Bursnoll | 109 comments Yea I'd want to know. But I prefer that level of perfection.

Brian Basham (brianbasham) | 390 comments I agree with everyone else. I would rather know. Even if my book was traditionally published. This is one of the reasons I want to self publish. I have the power to go in and update my novel to fix errors.

Mark Bordner I want criticism delivered straight and to the point. That's how we better ourselves.

J. David Clarke (clarketacular) | 418 comments I know I would want every single one pointed out to me so I could correct it in the next version. Honestly, that is one thing that drives me batsh*t effing insane, that after four edits and a round of beta readers, I'll be reading my published book and find error after error. ARRRRGHHH!

Jack Strandburg | 51 comments I think most authors have (or need to develop) thick skin, and it's important to know about mistakes so they can be careful next time and the time after that . . . I am amazed at the mistakes people point out after I've revised 50 times and review by not one but two editors. I guess that goes with being human.

A.R. Rivera | 14 comments I would want to know. Of course, my books not out yet and it will be digital.
I despise typos, yet I make them all the dang time. I want them eradicated.

Sophie Sophie | 14 comments Absolutely. I hate when people say there are mistakes but they haven't bothered to make a note of them. I always reread my work many times before releasing it to be proofread but even then it sometimes comes back with spelling or formatting errors. So yes i always want to know.
