I like it, it has something ethereal about it. :)

Shannon Peel (shannonpeel) | 34 comments Thanks for sharing these.... Always looking for good ideas. My marketing plan isn't at the book trailer stage yet, but it's good to see others.

Question - do they make a difference to your overall marketing?

Tbh, I'm not sure that mine did.

C.J. McKee (cjmckee) | 107 comments Shannon, that's something that's hard to track, but just like any ad/promotion I believe it does have some impact. I recently posted in groups on facebook, Google+ and of course here on GoodReads and even won a "Trailer of the Month" in a contest here on GoodReads! I think they're totally worth it and a lot of fun to make!

There's actually another book trailer thread in this folder to which I commented on about that question..

I think book trailers are one of the most underrated tools to promote one's book and many authors under utilize it. They are simple to make and you can post them to Youtube which is the main spot(in my opinion), your website/blog if you have one and even here on Goodreads. I actually make my own book trailers as they are easy to make if you have Windows Movie Maker or something similar on your computer. This not only saves you money but I assure you once you figure out how it works you'll not only be making quality book trailers but you'll have fun making them as well.

If you don't wish to make your own you can always look around here on Goodreads at members who offer book trailer making services though again i'd suggest giving Windows Movie Maker or whatever kind of program you have on your computer.

Lastly, I won't say you'll get a bunch of hits but it's good to promote the links to your trailers every now and then to build traffic and get more views and maybe even a few sales. Post the links wherever you can and watch and comment on other peoples trailers to build interest.

Lisa Emme (Lisa_Emme) | 35 comments I just finished my first book trailer last night and posted in on youtube. I used powerpoint and converted it to a movie file. I also found free music to use (free and royalty free). I think it turned out pretty good for a newbie :-)

I also went back and checked out all the listed trailers here and liked them. Great job everyone.

I liked yours about the poetry book!

Gillian Adams | 7 comments I've really enjoyed watching these trailers. I played around with iMovie but ended up using the Animoto app as I picked a theme and only had to find a couple of photos.
I also prefer shorter trailers of around 30 secs and the choices suit this.

J.S. Davey (jsethdavey) I made this trailer on Windows movie maker for my upcoming kid's book "The Fox Hole." The music is part of an original song I wrote. https://youtu.be/o97aAl_3B6Q

Also, here is a full musical narration I did for my whimsical children's story "On Top of a Hill There's a Billy." This is much better quality. https://youtu.be/j8qEx2y_rlg

Thanks for watching!
