Kat (deusdexmachina) | 12 comments How dark/visceral are you wanting to go? If you are finding "mainstream" horror stories to be a bit blasé for you, you might be ready to cross the threshold into Splatterpunk territory. If not, I can recommend something milder.

GracieKat | 195 comments I'd be interested too but I like the dark and atnospheric side of Silent Hill.

Hopefully we can each get some good suggestions! :) I'm actually ok with some gore, I just don't like any that involves kids.

Here's hoping we get some good books!

Jorge Lopez I can suggest you a couple based in your comments:

- Infernal City by Edward Lee

- The Rising by Brian Keene

- The Resort by Bentley Little

Tom | 340 comments I haven't read it but I was browsing and came across this The Descent by Jeff Long. Looks like it might fit the bill and it's now on my TBR

Victoria Murray (victoria-murray) | 7 comments I like the sound of some of these, I might check them out. The atmosphere of the Silent Hill games really sticks with you for years, you never forget it.

Famine (wolfcreed) James Herbert, Adam Nevill, Brian Keene, are good choices.
