Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2167 comments What book about the Tudors or Tudor England would you like to read in September?

If you can't remember what we've already read as a group, there's a "group read" shelf in the group's bookshelf.

Two nominations to a person.

Bronwyn Orsatti (bronwynorsatti) How about the new Philippa Gregory book - The Taming of the Queen

NayNay Historietime wrote: "How about The Red Queen's Daughter by Jacqueline Kolosov or Gilt by Katherine Longshore"

Both great reads but Brazen was the best of the Royal Circle Trilogy

message 6: by Carolina (new)

Carolina Casas | 69 comments I second the Taming of the Queen

Laura (buttonwoodfarm) | 5 comments In my thrift store book digging I came across the most interesting book. "The Queen's Cross. A biographical romance of Queen Isabella of Spain. Now I know she isn't a Tudo but she gave birth the Katherine of Aragon who married Prince Arthur then King Henry. You can under stand Katherine's strong will through her trials and tribulations. A great insight of the role model her Mother played. Written by Lawrence Schoonover 1955.

Naiad Lyne | 20 comments I'll also go with Watch the Lady by Elizabeth Fremantle.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2167 comments Seconding isn't necessary.

message 12: by Carolina (new)

Carolina Casas | 69 comments Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa
Elizabeth the struggle for the throne by Starkey

message 13: by Tansy (new)

Tansy Clement (tansyland) | 1 comments The Taming of the Queen- Gregory
Watch the Lady- Fremantle

message 14: by Kimber (new)

Kimber (kimberlibri) | 66 comments I would just like to request that we wait a little bit on The Taming of the Queen by Gregory. It won't be published until the 13th of August so it will still be 'brand new' in September and therefore at its most expensive both in eBook and tBook (tree book). I'd love to have it as a monthly read...I'd just like to wait until it is a bit more affordable.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2167 comments I'll nominate a couple myself: Firedrake's Eye, by Patricia Finney, and Queen's Gambit, by Elizabeth Fremantle.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2167 comments OK, that looks like a nice number of nominations, so I'll go open a poll.

message 17: by Susanna - Censored by GoodReads, Mod #4 (last edited Aug 06, 2015 06:02PM) (new)

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2167 comments The poll is here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1... , and at some point (I experienced technical difficulties in setting it up) it hope it will be on the home page of the group as well.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2167 comments Yeah, you'll have to follow the link above to get to the poll; it's still not showing up on either the group's home page or the polls home page. I have no idea why this happened this time.

message 19: by Skye (new)

Skye | 484 comments I voted and had no trouble.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2167 comments That's good to hear.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2167 comments And the winner: Philippa Greggory's The Taming of the Queen.

We'll be discussing it here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... .
