I love Laurie Halse Anderson! Have you read anything else by her?

My only experiance with her is Speak and I wasn't a huge fan, this concept needs so much more media coverage I just had to give it a go. Glad you're excited.

I just got this from the library and I will try and wait until start date but if I can't and end up starting early (may have to because it is due back to the library soon because there is a person on the hold list after me) I will just post my spoilers here! :D

So I started last night and am on Chapter 13 (page 40.) Such small chapters, I love it! (:

So far I am really enjoying it.

Hayley (view spoiler)[ Seems like a super interesting character that has so many hard things she has to deal with. It must be hard to have a father with PTSD. (hide spoiler)]

The dad (view spoiler)[Wow. Must be so hard to live life with that condition while trying to take care of a daughter. (hide spoiler)]

The guidance counselor (view spoiler)[It must be hard for her too. She doesn't want to give out information that Hayley did not already know of but since she can't get in touch with her father she has to tell her some things. Some of which Hayley did not know previously. (hide spoiler)]

Finn (view spoiler)[I sense a love hate relationship coming along with him and Hayley. I suspect they make start to love each other but I don't really want that to happen.. (hide spoiler)]

The "Stepmother" (view spoiler)[I wonder what is in the letter that the guidance counselor gave to Hayley that the stepmother wrote to her. (hide spoiler)]

Wanted to share a quote with you that I wrote down while reading last night from the book. I really like this quote:

"It's always there - fear - and if you don't stay on top of it, you'll drown."

That quote just spoke to me!

So far I am really enjoying it and am looking forward to reading more!
