Glad you liked it!! I am still WAY behind.. I own the book, but have not read it nor have I watch the movie... Need to get on that SOON!!

My friend is having a grad party this weekend and he lives close to the theater. I am hoping when it over I can kidnap him and our other friend that wants to see it and finally watch it! I have been freaking out for a a few months about it, more so after reading it!!!!

I really need to read this still! Maybe I will start it this week as a change of pace from the other books I am reading!

I have to admit I saw the movie before I read the book, but I feel reading the book after seeing the movie made me apperciate it a whole lot more. This book had to be brought to life because some of the heartwarming and hysterical scenes along with it's memorable quotes hits you. Although it is a work of fiction, it is eye opening that it wasn't that long ago America was like this down in the South. It makes you apperciate all the changes that have happened since the 1960s. Just like in the movie, I adored Aibileen, but Minny was my favorite character in the book. Kathryn Stockett did a wonderful job with the narrative for each of the main 3 characters. It brought wonderful perspectives to the story. Now, I know why everyone was raving about this book. It is a wonderful read that I couldn't put down. To end, remember " You is kind. You is smart. You is important."
Loved both the book and the movie. I liked how closely they stuck together!

Other than a few missing things, I thought the casting and acting was great and they stayed as true to the book as they could in the time frame. Also loved the pie scene!

I agree I watched the film in class and liked it but diddn't get very far with the book.
I am so excited! The Help is coming on TV in about 9 minutes, so I can finally watch it! I can't wait to see how it holds up to the book. :)
Okay....the movie is amazing!!! I missed a few minute of it when I needed to go help the guest group stay at camp, but it was so great! I feel like the only little thing missing in this was that it did not look like Skeeter was in the same danger in the movie as she was in the book. In the book it was almost scary to see how close she came to really being in trouble for visiting the women in the black neighborhood. I really loved the book, and honestly liked the movie just as much! A great job for sure!!!
