Jess Myname | 155 comments How do I know, when i am looking at a book on goodreads what kind of a book it is. Adult or teen? At the library it is easy because they are in sections, but i think i am missing something because I cant figure out what kind of book they are on this site. can anyone help me?

Also dose it say if they are mystery or love or what not? I ended up with a steampunk book not knowing that it was or even what steampunk is. I would like to avoid that mistake again. :)

This is a good question and very timely, because Goodreads recently made it much harder to find out what genre a book is, by removing the genres/shelves box from many book pages. They also changed the way people's shelvings are seen on the book page which makes it more difficult to see whether or how a person shelved a book a certain way, like "sci-fi" or "paranormal" or "YA" or "historical fiction."

Here's a thread I started about it in the Feedback Group. Please, join in the thread and let your voice be heard.
