The Rewind Challenge

In this challenge we will look back on some really great books that were published in 2013 and prier.

Each team can divide all eight of these up as you wish. The first team that reads all eight books will ern bragging rights for the first botb challenge.

1. Read a book that you got for free in 2013.
2. Read one book that was published in 2012.
3. Read a book that was published in 2013 or earlier, but you never got around to.
4. The person that has been a member of Goodreads the longest, must read a book that was published the year you joinned.
5. Read a book that has been on your to-read shelf the longest.
6. Read a book that was published in 2010.
7. Recommend a book to one of your team members that was published in 2013 or earlier.
8. Read a book by a favorite author that was published in 2013 or earlier. (re-reads count!)

Bonus!
Read a book that the entire team have, or have not read before, and read it as a buddy read!

What do the asterisks after our names mean? Some of us have 2, and others 3.

Not a clue. I thought they were just to keep track of who had checked in, but at that time there were only 2 asterisks beside our names. Who knows.

So, any ideas for team names? We've already picked the captain unless you're interested too Cinthia. Otherwise I say we stick with Shirley. :)

I'm not very good at coming up with names, they'll probably end up being lame. I'm trying to think about mashing together titles or character names.
I remember reading a book where one of the characters said they were "Hoovering". Maybe we can do something with Hoover too, since it appears we're all fans. :)

yup...i went ahead and put the book i'm going to read there so I don't have to remember to put it there when I'm done. Since I started it today it's going in my Feb folder.

If you haven't read the Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu and you liked books similar to Hunger Games and Divergent - I think you would really like these. And they are an easy read

Fantastic Series! I still need to read Champion but I've read the other two. The Shatter Me series is really good too if you haven't read them.

I have the Shatter Me series all ready to go as soon as I finish Champion - which I just started today. I am going to have to get back to Labor Day later.

I second Shannon. I just finished listening to the audiobooks (I had already read the trilogy before), and it was fun hearing the story the second time, knowing what happens.
Should we just do One for the Record Books as our name?

Hey everyone, all books that you read must be at least 100 pages. If you have one that you have already read, that is fine it will count. But from now on, they must be at least 100 pages.

Hey guys, please only put books you have already read on you main botb shelf. If you have books that are on your shelf that you have not read, please remove them. You can create a botb to read shelf if you would like to plan ahead. Sorry for not telling you guys this in the beginning.

yeah brit, so what about post here 3 YA/NA books we recommend? Or everyone send me a message with the recommendations and then I send the list with all the recommendations???

I like the idea of everyone posting 3 books they recommend here and we can each pick one and try to read it for March. Then maybe for April we can do a theme read that we vote on.

I'll take 1 and 8 unless someone else wants one of them. Shannon has me by a few months for the person whose been on Goodreads the longest so I can't take that one. :-)

For the bonus I'll offer up the book I wrote to everyone if you care to read it. It's an eBook and I'd give it to all you ladies for free if interested. Just a thought unless someone has another book they'd like to suggest.
