Sarah | 7 comments Hi. I'm looking for good a recommendation. Paranormal, fantasy, or futuristic.. any type will do. I tend to lean toward series but an individual book is fine too.

I would prefer something with good world building as well as good relationships. I particularly love Meljean brooks' Guardian series and Nalini Singh's Psy/Changeling series because I think they do both so well. If the series focuses mainly on one central couple throughout the entire series, like Eileen Wilks' Lupi series, instead of different couples for each book that's good with me too.

I would prefer the book not be in first person. Also I'm not fond of books with love triangles.

I would really appreciate it if anyone has a suggestion. Thanks!

Sarah--a nice LONG series (that is concluded now--the author passed away in 2007, but she managed to finish the series before she passed) Witch World. It's 30 or so books long. It's done in some cycles, some stand-alones, some interconnecting. . . It's high fantasy, and, while some of the cycles have a romantic angle, others are just straight adventure. But I've loved this series since I read the first book, waaayyyy back in the late 60's.

Have you tried the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands? Book 30 in this series just came out today (Tuesday, Feb. 18). It's a vampire series, but the vampires in it are scientifically created (by the Atlanteans). Nice, light series with fun couples.

Rachel Annie (snapdragoness) New series starting with Born in Blood (The Sentinels, #1) by Alexandra Ivy fits the bill.

Third person POV, good world building, set in the nearish future. A mix between a PNR and a UF with a film noir flair.

Dawn (dawnv) | 320 comments I think most PNR is in third person it is UF that is normally in first person.

So I would suggest:
Lora Leigh - Breeds (high sexual content different couple in each book)
Jeaniene Frost - Night Huntress (borderline UF same couple)
Patricia Briggs - Alpha and Omega (borderline UF same couple)be sure to read the short story first.
HP Mallory - Jolie Wilkins (same couple - classic PNR)
Larissa Ione - Demonica (different couples and steamy)
Kristen Callihan - Darkest London (different couples with regular cameos of prior couples - set in Victorian Age)

Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble (Jolie Wilkins, #1) by H.P. Mallory Alpha & Omega (Alpha & Omega, #0.5) by Patricia Briggs Tempting the Beast (Breeds, #1) by Lora Leigh Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost Firelight (Darkest London, #1) by Kristen Callihan

Hope that helps!!

Sarah | 7 comments Thanks! I'll definitely look into all of those.

Lorna | 56 comments You might try Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series or even Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward. The Night Prowler series by J. T.Geissinger is also very good.

Michelle (quill_n_ink) | 107 comments One of my favorite PNR series is A Hidden Fire (Elemental Mysteries, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter by Elizabeth Hunter. An interesting take on vampire nature and powers. 4 books in the main series, following the same H/h, and then 2 books and 2 novellas that are spin-offs for the supporting characters.

She has a new series, UF romance, The Scribe (Irin Chronicles, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter , but it's only one book in so far. Excellent tho!

Missyb | 493 comments Raphael (Vampires in America, #1) by D.B. Reynolds Cyn & Raphael are in just about every book in the series, but each book has a different main couple. Bad Blood (Crimson Moon, #1) by L.A. Banks one couple is the main focus and the series is about them. Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs and Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison both have a woman as the main character throughout & deals with her realtionships etc. Vampire Vacation (The V V Inn, #1) by C.J. Ellisson Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs (Jane Jameson, #1) by Molly Harper
I didn't realize how many series I read where each book is a different couple. It was hard to find series abut one couple throughout being the main focus.

Karma♥Bites ^.~ (karma_bites) | 62 comments These 3 series are what I consider more UF + romance, w/ the same heroine as MC and mostly the same secondary characters:

Full Moon Rising (Riley Jenson Guardian, #1) by Keri Arthur Keri Arthur's Riley Jenson series (wolf/vamp hybrid)
(FYI, the h has more than one love interest during course of series. Also, certain aspects could be seen as love triangle but I took it more as conflict due to her being a hybrid.)

Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, #1) by Karen Chance Karen Chance's Cassie Palmer series (psychic/seer)

Midnight's Daughter (Dorina Basarab, #1) by Karen Chance Karen Chance's Dorina Basarab series (half-vamp)

Karma♥Bites ^.~ (karma_bites) | 62 comments Master of the Night (Mageverse, #1) by Angela Knight Angela Knight's Mageverse series is PNR w/ vamps and witches based on Arthurian lore. Each book features a different couple who then *sometimes* have cameos in subsequent books.

Good luck!

Melissa | 6 comments I really like G.A. Aiken

I love the Dragon Series. They have a different style in that some of the characters are actually really funny. About a Dragon
