"Ah. See? Now we're actually getting somewhere," she laughed "mine's Neglan. Do you have any family?" She asked. "Tell me if I get too personal, by the way. I don't have a stopping point most of the time."

"Technically I have family, but honestly I don't. I live on my own, pay my own rent and everything. My parent has no rights over me." Spencer said quietly, avoiding looking at her. He tugged on s chain around his neck, biting his lip.

"Really? Oh, wow... I'm sorry... If you ever need anything just give me a call... My mom and dad got divorced last month, and my mom's already sleeping with another guy. He's rich, of course. She only goes for the rich ones. Money's all that matters to her," She sighed and bit her lip, looking down.

Spencer sighed and nodded. "That sucks." He let the chain go, glancing up at her. He was careful, trying not to say too much about himself, since he didn't really trust her.

"Yeah, but I'm guessing you still think I'm that stereotypical cheerleader, which I'm not, and never want to be. I just like cheerleading, you know? It clears my mind," Jada said. She didn't really care how much he knew, she'd just been hurt so much, it didn't even hurt anymore.

Spencer nodded. "Yeah. Sorry about earlier. I'm way too used to popular people just bullying me pretty much." He sighed and looked down.

"Yeah, it's fine, I get that a lot. And I'm sorry if my friends are the ones that bully you. They have no stopping point... but if you got to know them, you'd love them," Jada said, and her eyes lit up.

"They wouldn't like me. I'm a total computer geek, I can hack stuff pretty easily, And I have no social life.." Spencer replied.

"You can hack stuff?! That's so cool! Well... yeah i guess they wouldn't. You know I'm starting to rethink my friends..." She said and smirked.

Spencer shrugged. He ran a hand through his hair, looking at her.

She grinned at him.

Spencer smiled faintly back. He looked back at his laptop screen, checking the time.

"Oops. I think I forgot to work on the project..."

Spencer rolled his eyes, typing some more. He bit his lip, focused on what he was doing.

"Sorry about that... I just got so wrapped up in talking, you know what I'll do it tonight on my own, I'll cover food tonight."

"Okay. I've already got architecture done. Since there really wasn't much on it." Spencer responded. He yawned quietly.

"Alright. You can head to work, it's about time anyway," She said

Spencer checked the time and sighed. "Okay." He closed his laptop and put it in his backpack.

"See you tomorrow," She said and smiled at him, following him downstairs.

"See you tomorrow." Spencer replied. He smiled faintly as he walked out to his car.

She waved at him and closed the door.
"Okay back to Netfilx," She said.

Spencer got in his car and started it. He drove to work.

The next day, Jada got zero sleep. She was dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt when she came to school. As she walked down the hall to her first period class, she passed by Spencer and she waved at him.

Spencer didn't notice, lost in his own thoughts. He walked to class but before he could make it, a jock shoved him into a locker. "Stay away from Jada.." The jock growled. Spencer sighed. "I can't. We have to work on a project.." He said quietly, watching the guy.

Jada looked back, and saw the jock shove Spencer.
"Hey! What was that for?" She asked and started walking back over to Spencer.

"Yeah right." The jock scowled.
"Well, if you want to fight me about it, then let's fight." Spencer sighed, glaring.

Jada started walking faster. "Hey, guys stop! What are you doing?" She asked and stopped inbetween them.

"Back off, Jada. This has nothing to do with you." The jock growled, his eyes on Spencer.
Spencer glared, not saying anything.

"Yeah, I don't care if it does or not. You're not fighting each other," She stated and stood firmly between them still.

The jock tried to move around her. Spencer glanced between Jada and the Jock.

Jada put her hands on the jock's chest and tried to push him away from Spencer.
"Guys come on we're gonna be late for class and I'd rather not have my excuse be 'trying to break up a fight, now move!" She said.

While Jada was busy trying to keep them separated, Spencer slipped away from them. The jock backed off

"Great. Now, let's get to class," She said and sighed, making her way back down the hall.

The jock followed after her.
Spencer had gone in the opposite direction of the class. Once he saw them go inside, he quickly walked back, not wanting to be late.

Jada turned around to find the jock behind her.
"What were you doing back there? Calm down. God, Connor what's gotten into you?" She said and sat down at her desk.

Connor didn't answer, walking to his desk.
Spencer slipped inside right before the bell. He walked to his desk.

Jada sighed and got out her notebook. She tore a piece of paper off and sent a note to Spencer.
"What was that back there? I don't know what happened but if it was Connor's fault I'm sorry."

Spencer shook his head. "Don't worry about it. It's fine." He said In a whisper.

"Okay, just tell me if he bothers you again..." She whispered.
"Please get together with your partners and begin working on your project," The teacher said.

"No. I don't need you sticking up for me. I can take care of myself," Spencer replied.

"Whatever you say. Last year he broke some kid's arm. Just be careful. He's ruthless," She said and glared at Connor.

"Yeah. I know. Whose arm did he break?" Spencer asked.

"Oh, my ex boyfriend's. Connor and I dated for a year, and I broke up with him because he drank too much, and was seeing other girls, but after that I got together with this kid, Lance, and Connor got mad, so they got in a fight and arms got broken." She said.

"Hmmm." Spencer nodded. He took out his laptop and opened it.

"Sooo, last night I got food covered, what do you want to work on now?" She asked.
