"They kissed me! I didn't kiss them!" He argued, raising his voice. Spencer heard him and frowned.
"Okay, well you could have stopped them, stop yelling, God," she said.
"I tried. But you believed them, not me." Connor answered. Spencer paused his music, took out his earbuds, and walked to the door.
"That's because I know that you've cheated before, and quite frankly I think I'd believe them in any situation, rather than you."
"Jada. I'm not the same. I've changed." He promised.
"People don't change," she stated, "people never change," she looked down.
"That's not true. People change.." He replied.
"Face it, they don't change, they change their outside, but the inside, Connor the inside is the same."
"No. He isn't. Why won't you believe that?" He raised his voice some.
"I know you, and I don't want to get hurt again.."
"I'm sorry. But I'm not gonna hurt you again.." He protested.
"But how can I be sure..." Her eyes were watering.
"Take a chance.. Trust me." He pleaded. Spencer could hear them through the door.
"But what happens when I do give you a second chance, and you mess it up again," She said, now with a tear running down her cheek.
"I won't mess it up." He stepped toward her.
She looked down, wiping her eyes. She didn't know what to say.
"Okay, but we have to take it slow..." She said, stepped away from him.
"Um, I'm going to go back inside..." She ssaid slowly and began to go back to the door.
Connor sighed. "Fine. Call me later?"
"Yeah, sure," She said and went back inside.
Connor frowned. He walked away, muttering under his breath. Spencer had gone back to his laptop
"Uh, hi, sorry about that, how are you doing?" She asked and sat down beside him.
Spencer looked up, pulling earbuds out of his ears. "Good. I guess. Most of my half of the project is done.."
"Cool, since I kinda wasted all my time I'll get some of it done tonight, okay?"
"Okay. When is it due again?" He asked.
"Friday," She responded and opened her laptop.
She smiled, "I'm hungry, want something?"
"Alright," She said and put some pizza rolls in the oven.
Spencer yawned softly, looking at his computer.
"Oh," She said, and her mom came in "Hi mom, this is Spencer," She said.
"Hi Spencer," Jada's mom said and hurried upstairs."Well, there's my mom..." Jada said.
Spencer nodded. "She seems okay." He shrugged. He messed with the chain around his neck absentmindedly.
"Hey can I see your tatoo again? I really love it," She said and went over to him.
"Yeah. Sure." Spencer shrugged. He turned his arm so she could see it.
"Ugh, thats so cool," She said and traced the letters with her finger. "When did you get it?" She asked.
"About a month ago." Spencer said quietly.
"Wow... you know I want to get a tatoo. I just don't know what of," She said and stood back up.
"Wait till you're 18. Then it's a lot easier to get one... First, you don't have to deal with parent permission, second, more artists are willing to do it." He informed her.
"Oh, thanks," She said and smiled at him.
He nodded. Spencer noticed that she didn't seem to question why he had gotten one at only 16.
