First one that comes to mind is Outlander. It took me WEEKS to stop thinking about that book.

I read a book earlier this month that I haven't been able to let go yet. It's a new one called Red Rising by Pierce Brown. An incredible Sci-Fi, dystopian fantasy. It's the first of a trilogy so I'm dying for the next book.

Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon Red Rising (Red Rising Trilogy, #1) by Pierce Brown

I have a few but I read The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred last year and just fell in love with Alix & Nick. The book was so touching - full of love, betrayal, heartbreak, forgiveness, starting over - realizing that the people we love have the power to hurt us most. I love this story.

A couple of series that I've read recently blew me away - the Darkest Duet with Caleb & Livvie's story Captive in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #1) by C.J. Roberts and the Consequences series with Anthony & Claire's story Consequences (Consequences, #1) by Aleatha Romig . I realize that everyone will certainly not agree with these choices but I was touched in an intimate, lasting manner through both these series. The writers mesmerized, hypnotized, horrified, & shocked me but most of all - through both series - they gave me Hope...always hope for these dark, damaged characters. They made me feel. I will remember these series a long time and most certainly reread them at some future time.

And last year, I read The Original Sinners series The Siren (The Original Sinners, #1) by Tiffany Reisz . I was left speechless, shocked, and in an unbelievable state by the time I finished all the books. But again, they touched me.

Quynh (quynh_o) | 1269 comments Oh I have heard sooooo many great things about The Sweet Gum Tree. It's been on my TBR for a while now, I should really bump it up for this year's read.

My favorites that have stuck with me and come to mind are:

The Scribe, not just because it ends with a cliffhanger and I need the next book. It's unique in the writing, the world building, and the characters themselves. They are intriguing, funny, and very often, mysterious. I can't figure anyone out and what will happen. I'm just excited for the next one in this series to see where it will go.

Unlawful Contact. I loooove this series by Pamela Clare. Her writing is amazing, she has experienced some of the stuff her heroines/heroes have gone through, so that in itself is admirable. What sticks with me about this book are the characters Marc and Sophie. They had a history together and as adults, circumstances and desperation bring them together. It's more about sacrifice (for the both of them) to protect what they love, each for different reasons. It's emotional (I cried), gripping, and suspenseful. Plus their chemistry is hot! As well, there's a bromance that develops after this book between Marc and Julian that has a spot in my heart too. They're just hilarious.

The next one is Father Mine: Zsadist and Bella's Story. What can I say about Zsadist except I love him!! He may seem scary but he has a heart of gold, especially for his shellan Bella. His overcoming the trauma and nightmare that still haunt him and then accepting fatherhood, picking up his baby daughter for the first time... I literally turned into a puddle reading that scene. The novella is emotional, it looks into the lives of a married couple, their fears, hopes, and love overcoming everything. It's a beautiful read, plain and simple.

Maggie | 1576 comments The 2 that I immediately think of are Beautiful Disaster and The Downside Ghosts series. Abbey and Travis from BD were great characters and I couldn't wait to find out if they ended up together.
Terrible and Chess from Downside Ghosts.... I could not stop thinking about them. I've never gotten so upset reading books, crying upset that I had to stop reading for a while. I really don't know it effected me so much. I have wanted to a re-read cause I enjoyed the series so much, but truthfully I'm afraid I'll still get upset.
It's funny how some books effect you so much and others are just a story.

Penni | 816 comments Maggie - same here with Downside Ghosts. Love Chess and Terrible and hurt so much during book 3 for Chess. Can't wait to get to the net one.

Lisa I agree with Jonetta the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon love Jamie & Claire. As for a scene ohhhh that's tough but in book 1 their wedding night!

Next would be Paulina Simmons Bronze Horseman trilogy, a scene would be the ending of book 2.

There are many others but these two stand out for me.
