Curating a reader's soundtrack - any help is welcomed

I would say to mostly go with folk/classical/instrumental music, that kind of stuff mostly fits as soundtrack.

I don't want this to be just my project, I'd love to get a lot of different types of music from a lot of different people. If someone's really into Sim or loves Devi, I want to hear what music they have for them because it's going to carry their unique voice. A good character story is all about having disparate voices coming together to create something larger, right?
The music should be timeless, so nothing that will be going out of fashion in the next year or two. I 100% agree that folk/classical music works for a lot of the story (especially folk for the frame). That said, it would be wise to avoid any songs that are too well known (ie Moonlight Sonata) to avoid bringing in any emotional baggage that people already associate with them.
I expect we will pull a lot of music like Sigur Ros, The Cinematic Orchestra, movie scores, and classical. We'll use more avant-garde music for the fae, folkier music for the frame story, etc etc.
We'll stick to songs available on Spotify so everyone can play it without spending a fortune on iTunes. We can put the chapter playlists there and it'll be accessible from any pc or smartphone without ads ruining the mood.
The idea is this: we create a playlist that will follow the reader, chapter by chapter, through the entire story. We will develop themes for individual characters, settings, and moods. Scenes with troupers and scenes that remind Kvothe of his life with the troupe will come from the same genre or composer, characters will have elements (instruments, etc) that follow them through the story and evolve with them.
This won't be an easy deal, it's a lot of work, but if you try picking a song for "walking Denna through Alveron's gardens" or "I don't sell used shoes" and find it rewarding then I'd love your help.
If you have favorite characters and want to develop their themes and choose the music for your favorite scenes, I'd love to hear your thoughts and have your input. This is a huge project and I would love some musically minded people on the team.
I can coordinate all of the organizational work but would love some help handpicking the music. I won';t ask for any specific commitments of time or workloads unless you're interested in signing up for chapters. Anyone in?
