Could someone explain to me what's the difference between city of bones and clockwork? Is it related to each other or a complete different story in the same world?

Clockwork (infernal devices) is a prequel series.
I mean, I can't stand Cassandras writing, but I think this is right

I did not know that. It would make sense to read the Clockwork series first.

I think you should read them as they were released because there are spoilers in some of the books that ruin the other series if you just read them as seperate series. I think it was City of Heavenly Fire that spoils Clockwork Princess or something, I can't really be sure.

But ya the Clockwork Angel trilogy is a prequel to The Mortal Instruments. It's set in a different country, way back in the past with most of the characters being different :).

I've read The Infernal Devices. and am currently reading the last book in The Mortal Instruments. I think you should read TMI first. It gives hints to TID throughout the series. I haven't finished it yet though so there might be spoilers like Sarah said, I just don't know yet.

City of Bones

City of Ashes

City of Glass

The Infernal Devices

Clockwork Angel

Clockwork Prince

City of Fallen Angels

City of Heavenly Fire

Then:

The Bane Chronicles

Shadowhunter Academy

Lady Midnight

etc....

If you, understandably, don't want to break up your reading that way, I suggest this:

The Mortal Instruments

The Infernal Devices

The Bane Chronicles

Shadowhunter Academy

Lady Midnight

And so on.

I've never even heard of Lady Midnight. I'm so behind with these books lol

It's coming out next year :) I thibk it's a series set in the time between TID or TMI or else it's the one that happens after TMI, there's 3 more Shadowhunter series coming out :)

I looked it up, it's 5 yrs after TMI

That's the one :)
