Esther (estame) | 49 comments Hello! I saw you commenting here earlier and I thought Ooooo! Looks good!
Dunno if I'm writing in the correct place yet but I shall get there!

Sarah (sarahlou29) Hehe =] It is guuud, so addictive.

I saw you just joined the World challenge, you can keep track of all your books in the member corner here

And this thread is for keeping track of your books towards your personal reading goal =]

It's awesome there are so many challenges XD Here's my corner so you can get an idea.

You back at work this week?

message 5: by Esther (new)

Esther (estame) | 49 comments Excellent thanks Sarah! I shall set up my corner now. The bingo challenge we did has certainly helped towards getting a decent start on the Monopoly challenge. I am basically copying you at everything, hope that's ok, I'm your goodreads shadow lol

No, don't go back until next week, hurrah :-)

Sarah (sarahlou29) Awesome, I'll keep my eye out for your corner, I love seeing what people are going to tackle =]

I loved the Bingo toppler. Yes defo brought mine down too, 2 of them were teenage-y stuff like I said, so it's made me re-think my TBR list. I may go through it this week and get rid of all the high school stuff, as I'm really not into that anymore.

Hehe no worries =] I just upped mine on the Monopoly challenge as well. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and organiser lol so I'm always going back and forth making sure it looks pretty.

Yay! Thats nice. Got any other plans apart from reading?

message 7: by Esther (new)

Esther (estame) | 49 comments Not planning much reading this week, well, certainly not as much as last week. Ive got twins and it's their birthday this week so that shall be fun. They are 18 fgs! I am only (!) 38 myself, and suddenly I've got two adults! Madness. Other than that I am so boring, I don't go out and I like it that way.

You got any plans to look forward to this week?

message 8: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahlou29) Oh kewl what's the plan for the bday? =]

Hah yes, not so much reading for me this week either, maybe 2 or 3 books as I have 1 challenge the Candy Hearts one to finish by Friday.

I'm boring too. It's partly due to my anxiety and depression, and the other part because I have no money to do fun things =[ booo! But looking for a job all the same so hopefully soon *fingers crossed*

No plans except for going into town on the weekend and going to a gym consultation on Thursday.

message 9: by Esther (new)

Esther (estame) | 49 comments Family meal on their birthday evening and then a function room booked at a bar at the weekend. Expecting carnage lol.
Good on your for going to the gym, that might even help with some of your depression and anxiety, so it's a great step in a positive direction. I need to lose weight, I've put on so much it's not even funny.
Job hunting is hard work, it's difficult to make ends meet what with rent and fuel, nightmare, good luck.
I love Bristol by the way, I once went out with someone from there so I have fond memories of the accent and the place in general. It's a pretty unique city, nowhere else is quite like it, somehow.

Sarah (sarahlou29) Ooh yum yum, sounds good fun!

=] I try to do work-outs at home, I joined the gym last year but as we have no money we had to stop going. But I asked the doctor if they could give me exercise on prescription, I still have to pay but it's no where near as much. SO now I need to ask my Grandma, very very kindly if she doesn't mind helping me out.

Nooo, you don't need to lose weight, you should only work-out and stuff if you want to =] I love exercise my problem is food, I love the good stuff but I also love the junk. But I'm working out for mental reasons and my family are getting serious health problems now and I'm worried about getting them; heart disease runs on my mom's side, diabetes runs along my dad's side and my mom has just recovered from breast cancer. So I want to do all that I can to reduce my risks *gulps*

Oh gosh yes, it is. I've been out of work for nearly 2 years now and it's driving me crazy how no one wants to take me on. Even for 2 volunteering jobs =O and I had experience and qualifications! It's crazy.

Oh cool, I do like the town yes, I'm not actually from here though, I'm a brummy =] lived in Cheltenham for a bit then came here. Have you always been in Lancashire? I've been there twice I think. Once when I stayed in Morecambe and once when I went to Lake Windermere. But when we went into Lancaster one of the days the castle wasn't open =[ So haven't been in there.

What does the exercise on prescription offer? I'd be interested in that because I'm pretty skint.
Kudos to your mum for her cancer recovery, that must have been stressful for everyone.
You are definitely in a good place age-wise to make some positive health changes, your young body will respond really quickly to healthy goodness. When I was about your age I really turned my fitness levels around in about 5 months, I was very healthy back then - now not so much at all.
What kind of work are you looking for? The job market up here is non-existent unless you like working with the general public on a zero hours contract!
I was born in Lancashire but grew up in Lincolnshire, stayed there til my twenties and then moved to Shropshire for 10 years, until moving back here to be closer to my mum after a relationship break-up. I don't like it here much to be honest! I miss Shropshire quite a lot, but I'd never go back. Used to go shopping in Birmingham a lot, to the old Bullring :-)
Lancaster is very nice, one of my daughters has it as her first choice of uni so fingers crossed she gets in. They don't get rid of me that easily!

Sarah (sarahlou29) Here, you can only get an exercise on prescription if you have one of the following: 20% Coronary heart disease risk, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, mild to moderate depression, stable type1/type 2 diabetes.. and basically they just referred me to the 'Active Health' gyms around South Gloucestershire including Bath, Bristol and Yate. I still ahve to pay I think normally it's something between £35-£42, and I can either pay £3.35 for each session or £22 a month.

Yes it was pretty stressful =[ She's having other problems now though due to the hormone medication she has to take.. poor momma.

I love exercise, I used to hate it in school and I had a bad relationship and shot up 3 dress sizes within a year. And ever since I was 15 I was constantly on a diet following my mom. It's only been the past 2/3 years that I've just eaten healthily and stopped the diets. Although now I work out a fair bit my food's gone up and I just eat everything nom nom!

I want to work with animals, either in a zoo as a zoo keeper or abroad somewhere with animal and wildlife conservation =]

Hah, my mom's family come from Lincolnshire =] I used to go to Skegness all the time on holiday when we were younger.

Lancashire is a lovely scenic place but when I went it looked quite isolated. Shropshire, nice, close to Wales XD me looove Wales.

Have you been to the new Bullring?

Ooh let's hope so. What does she want to study?
