Downside - lots of unknowns some of whom you might love, others not. For example, I liked Chu's first book but it cost me $2 and some time. On the other hand, I didn't love it.
Also, there's a mix of genres (last time they did something like this there was a lot of steampunk and horror, neither of which I care about). Lots of books which, depending on your current TBR pile is good or bad.
I've never done this because I'd rather pick the authors I like, try a book and dive deeper. AR has a place in my book reading heart though, for introducing me to Lauren Beukes' work. However, if you generally like AR's authors and don't already own a bunch of TBR stuff it's a hell of a deal and gives you a lot of options when you're in that "eh, what shall I read next...." mood.

One other downside, although it's relatively minor: In the package, they give you epub versions, so I had to use Calibre to convert them to something more Kindle-friendly.

Seems like a pretty good deal to me, and it covers quite a spectrum of styles and subgenres.
Guess it was limited time offer, the link is dead.
Has anyone here ever read an AR book that just blows your mind? Most of their books seem great but nothing to make a fanatic out of you with.

I have read a few and heard good things about many others.
