Ben Rowe (benwickens) It is a great deal but you just need to think about how many of the books you would actually enjoy reading and be happy reading a lot of the type of books that Angry Robot put out.

I have read a few and heard good things about many others.

Rick Upsides - the AR ebooks have no DRM so you can read them on anything. If you enjoy AR's house style it could be a good deal. Even if you only read half of them it's pretty decent.

Downside - lots of unknowns some of whom you might love, others not. For example, I liked Chu's first book but it cost me $2 and some time. On the other hand, I didn't love it.

Also, there's a mix of genres (last time they did something like this there was a lot of steampunk and horror, neither of which I care about). Lots of books which, depending on your current TBR pile is good or bad.

I've never done this because I'd rather pick the authors I like, try a book and dive deeper. AR has a place in my book reading heart though, for introducing me to Lauren Beukes' work. However, if you generally like AR's authors and don't already own a bunch of TBR stuff it's a hell of a deal and gives you a lot of options when you're in that "eh, what shall I read next...." mood.

Joseph | 2433 comments I actually took advantage of that deal last month. So far, the only ones I've read that I got in the package are Lee Collins' Cora Oglesby books (monster hunting in the Old West) but I'd read other titles in the past. I'd agree: Look at the catalog and see how many of them look appealing; check sample chapters.

One other downside, although it's relatively minor: In the package, they give you epub versions, so I had to use Calibre to convert them to something more Kindle-friendly.

Trike | 11202 comments Quickly perusing the list shows that I already own about 8-10 of the titles. So that's somewhere in the $60-$80 range that I've already spent.

Seems like a pretty good deal to me, and it covers quite a spectrum of styles and subgenres.

Guess it was limited time offer, the link is dead.

Has anyone here ever read an AR book that just blows your mind? Most of their books seem great but nothing to make a fanatic out of you with.
