The March 2014 books are: The Disappeared by Kristina Ohlsson due out March 4, 2014 and Yrsa Sigurðardóttir's book I Remember You: A Ghost Story due out March 25, 2014, I already had it from England, sounded so good.

Mae (birdsinflight) | 34 comments I ordered both books (from UK) and the first to arrive is I Remember You. Starting and yay! I look forward to being in a read-along.

Read The Disappeared by Kristina Ohlsson. Can't wait for the next book to see how the outcome of all the left undone's. Fredrika is a wonder at solving the murders, but lacks the ability in her own life's problems. That goes with the members of the team she's in. Therefore the next book.

I think I'd like to try I Remember You. Haven't read a horror book in years so I'll give this one a shot.

You'll like it. It stays with you for a few days.

Thanks. Hope it's not too gruesome. Seems interesting enough to try. I'd like to try the Nesbo book also in the next read along.

Just you wait.

Mae (birdsinflight) | 34 comments I didn't like I Remember You...sorry, just not a ghost story fan, and I'm now on to The Disappeared (still March!) I am sure I'll like this one.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry to hear that. So far, I'm enjoying it.

message 14: by Mae (new)

Mae (birdsinflight) | 34 comments Me too..I really wanted to like it! The atmosphere was great and the book I read immediately after, also set in Iceland had next to zero atmosphere.so that was something I did like!

message 15: by Mae (new)

Mae (birdsinflight) | 34 comments Icelandic brrrrrrrh

I'm the opposite. I'm now on chapter 10 of The Disappeared and still am not getting Into the story. It's like the story is going around in circles. Should I continue?

message 17: by Mae (new)

Mae (birdsinflight) | 34 comments I'm on Chapter 15 and even though the writer leads the reader around in circles...this is still okay with me, I am willing to see where the author goes with this. Too soon to tell.

Mary (1meow1) | 118 comments I think I put this post under the wrong topic so I'll post it here and see what comments I receive.
I know this is a forum for Nordic authors but I have to share a book I read recently that was fantastic! The author is Pierre Lemaitre and the book is titled "Alex". It had a twist to the story that I was not ready for. Also, the characters are quite different. All and all I just loved this book. I'm always checking to see if another title has been published. In fact, I'm going to check right now! Ciao

Sue | 81 comments Really enjoyed I Remember You : a Ghost Story. Thought the ending was brilliant. Did get a bit fed up with the 3 renovating the house. Preferred the parts with the dr. Excellent twist in the story.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

I should be done by the weekend with I Remember You. I guess I'll see how the ending is. So far, great book.

message 21: by Mary (new)

Mary (1meow1) | 118 comments I just wish I could have read this book on a couple of rainy, stormy nights! It was a book that just screamed to be read at night! Glad you all liked it as much as I did.
And to reply to ???!!!...sometimes Nordic mysteries are like that. They can go in five different directions but at the end it all comes together. Don't know how they do that but I love it.
And Ron, I can't wait to see what you think.

message 22: by ???!!! (new)

???!!! | 135 comments I totally get stories with multiple sub stories. But IMO the story could be a little tighter.

message 23: by Mary (new)

Mary (1meow1) | 118 comments You're right there. There isn't much to laugh at in this story.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished I Remember You. One of the best books I've read this year. Below is my review.

I remember you enjoyed "Alex", while I'm still trying to catch up my library books before starting Pierre Lemaitre other book you might want to check out a book called The Last Dead Girl. I find it quite fascinating.

Mary (1meow1) | 118 comments Thanks so much, ???!!!. I'm always on the lookout for a good book.

message 27: by ???!!! (new)

???!!! | 135 comments Just finished I Remember You. I don't know whether is ok to ask questions abt the book since it contains spoilers. But this is a book discussion, right? So if you have not read the book pls do not continue reading. Any of you have any comments about the ending? Why do you think the boy need to kill others besides the classmates?

My impression was that he was going after the people who chased one of the students onto that boat which eventually led to his death.

message 29: by ???!!! (new)

???!!! | 135 comments Those were his classmates. But Kristin, Lif and Gunther were new to the island.

message 30: by Dalia (new)

Dalia | 19 comments Also, why did Katrin get so angry? The end is setting her up to kill Freyr when he gets to the house.....

message 31: by ???!!! (new)

???!!! | 135 comments I know! Finally another reader shares my questions. But no answers:(. Just don't tell me there's gonna be a sequel to that ending. That will ruin a perfectly good novel.
