SOS: Serious Overload of Series discussion

Back in July 2014 I read this Liane Moriarty book its called Little lies,
it was really popular here in the UK and looked like this





Looking through the new books available to pre-order July 2015 I spot
this book below called Big Little Lies, I think it must be a new book
some kind of second part to the previous book .The titles different
and the cover. But no it seems they are the same book.
The new edition has a new title and cover. I get the
cover change but the title change ? Its very misleading.

It's bad enough with new covers, I've sometimes almost been caught out and luckily GR has saved me. But a new name as well, I might have clicked that button before realising :(

Well the title is kind of fitting given the misleading circumstance, no?

I think is the US title and cover. I've seen that book for ages so I know it's not new.

How is it available in the UK now, I wonder? Because you're right, it makes it seem like a sequel.

Well that is what I did, as it was a new book to pre-order
just finished re-reading Little Lies and thinking this is
very much a beginning to end story. Its what made me look
on here and realise things were not quite as they seemed.

Perhaps they thought the title & book cover looked better
than the UK one, but they are pushing this as a new book,
which is silly because it was a best seller over here.
I could understand this if the book had failed on its
first release and they were trying a new promotional
angle, but its not going to take long for people to
realise its not what they think it is.

That particular title difference is misleading.

It's not unusual for U.K. and U.S. book titles (and even series titles) to be different.

U.K. title: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
U.S. title: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
