21st Century Literature discussion

For general discussion related to the book. Good examples here would be stories about the author, or real-world facts that might be of interest to readers. No spoilers please.

Many current environmental issues are brought to bear on the story. Here are two relevant items I've stumbled across just while reading the news concurrently with the book:

It looks like a Goodreads hiccup, Lily, but thanks for pointing it out. This month's books are both set for the proper date range, and they should be showing on the home page. Let's cross our fingers and hope Goodreads manages to sort itself out soon...

Yes, thx. I've encountered that difficulty myself. Never figured out quite what combination stops the automatic gears, but I was pretty certain a moderator could unfreeze them.
