Yay! So excited to start this
The books I was reading before this turned out to be from the DNF category. So I'm going to start reading this tomorrow. Wanted to give everyone a heads up in case you also want to start earlier with this. I hope it's good!
Wow, this book is bad...I'm sorry guys, but I won't be able to join you for this read anymore. My tolerance for cliche dystopias + annoying characters + predictable plot it's at it's limit right now.
We have Davy. She's this blessed prodigy with a perfect face, perfect family and perfect boyfriend. First chapter starts out describing her perfect boyfriend, her perfect relationship and her perfect friend that competes with her boyfriend for her attention and ends up in him confessing to her that he loves her *gag*. It had so much cheese that I was ready to throw my mp3 in a puddle outside (I was listening to the audiobook).
Her brother is a troublemaker (observe how she emphasize on that, to let us know that bad people are not being punished, while she, the perfect girl is discovered to have the killing gene and is persecuted for it).
The folowing is so oubvious it pains me to even think about it. She's going to go against the regime and the injustice of being Uninvited just because she has the killing gene. Others will join her in the fight and she'll probably end up falling in love with another boy that she's going to meet in her journey.
The writing is not particularly good either. Standard YA for half-developed brains.
I'm sure some might find this a good average book, but I really need to read something good right now, not just average. :(

Abbie didn't return either. And we have Sarah's confirmation that we're not missing the book of the year so I guess it's ok. I hope you will try this for yourself one day because I feel bad for influencing you like this. It's really not my type of book, could be yours, donno. But, if it's not, you'll realize from the first chapters. The writing was painful, at least for me. But I think that if you'll like those chapters you'll like the rest as well.
