Challenge: 50 Books discussion

Hi all, I'm Shene. I'd like to read more this year and I want to be more active in Goodreads so I decided to join a group. I've discovered that I can read books in epub format with my phone so yay! (I don't own a smartphone so that's nice.) The first book I finished was Paper Towns by John Green. I haven't read novels in quite some time, and this was a nice book to start with. Initially, I was going to read An Abundance of Katherines but my brother commented that his friends have read 'Paper Towns' and said it was good. So that's why I chose it. Maybe I'll post my review/ thoughts about it later. Or not.

I've read The Spectacular Now because my friend recommended the movie, and I want to read books first before seeing the movie adaptations. I loved the book because of the characters, especially Sutter and his perspective. Getting to know him was refreshing. I watched the movie right after finishing the book, and that was a mistake. I like to ponder what I've read so I was still hung up on the book. The movie was good but I kind of nitpicked the whole thing.

Reviving this old thread because I'm gonna try (again) to write about the books I read this year. I not-so-recently finished Charm and Strange; a pretty nice read to get me started.
