Patrick Kelly (patrickkelly) Anyone know any good fiction set in Austin? Here's a good story. Hill Country Greed: An Austin, Texas Mystery.

Okay, okay, I know, I wrote the book so this is a self promotion, but seriously, how many novels are set in Austin? We're the eleventh largest city in the country. There should be tons of it.

If you lived here in 1999, in the midst of the high-tech boom, you will love my story. Read the first five chapters free on my website. And please tell me if you know of other good novels set here.

Patrick Kelly (patrickkelly) The reception has been great so far, both from local and out-of-town readers. Austin has become a hot destination over the last decade, and I think many folks now have an appreciation for the city. For example, when I describe a dramatic suicide just outside the Driskill Hotel, I think readers can envision the scene more clearly because they have stood on that same spot.

Is the novel you reference above (your first) still available. I'd like to check it out.

Roman Morales (rebelbase) | 2 comments I’ll give the first 5 chapters a read and see where that takes me.

Manning Wolfe (manningwolfe) | 1 comments Thanks, Patrick for posting this topic. I write a legal thriller series set in Austin. The latest is Green Fees: Texas Lady Lawyer vs Browno Zars. It just came out on the first day of Summer 2018. It's the third in the series. All of the books are based on real-life events from my legal practice as a starting point. The series can be read in any order.

I'll definitely check out your books, Patrick. I'm always looking for a good Austin read!
