That's a great theory! I don't know about Roland, I was thinking maybe someone we haven't met, or Lisa ?

The fact that Mac's brother is dead have ruined me. I have a younger brother and we have more or less the same age difference as Mac and Ben. I actually cried a couple of times thinking of anything happening to my brother.
The Archive, the Keepers, the Librarians and History are really interesting. It's been a while since I fell in love with a world this much. It's gorgeous and can't wait to find more about it.
The door in the antechamber where the librarian girl took the body to is very suspicious. It reminded me of the Doctor Who episode The Eleventh Hour where you couldn't see a door because your perception always shifted away from it.
Lastly, I really really really like Roland, he is my favourite after Mac. I'll be really sad if he turns out to be evil.

and oh my goodness, the door is exactly like The Eleventh Hour! You are brilliant!

If I had posted a couple of chapters ago, I would have had a different opinion. The beginnings of books usually tend to be drab, as they set things up for action later. I must say I loved on distinction that Da made between History and history, Archive and archive.
I was disappointed in the book at first, as I absolutely loved the premise. Reading it, though, I just didn't know what we were setting up for. While I was intrigued a bit by her interest in keeping a connection with Ben, I didn't see this as enough to carry a whole book.
Now, however, with the introduction of Wesley, it seems more fascinating. Not for the fact that he's a boy - it actually frustrates me that just about every book has to have some sort of love interest (or at least potential for one). But, instead, due to the fact that he's also a Keeper. Even though, I feel like it's too convenient of an idea, I am happy that Mac will have someone that will help her feel less alone.

I didn't sense anything strange about Mrs. Angelli, but now that you have mentioned it, I will definitely be keeping a wary eye on her. :)
Roland intrigues me as well. I'm curious to see what he was investigating when Mac came in.
I'm curious about Da's death as well. I also thought it was her father at first.
I'll be checking back at chapter 20, unless I feel like I have to check in before then.
As soon as I heard the plot of this book, I was onboard. Sometimes you feel like nothing is original anymore, and then a book like this shows up! I was putting off reading it though, so thanks for making me pick it up finally, Jesse!
My current theories (not spoilers, I'm only on chapter 11): I think the murderer was a keeper, and now he's a librarian and he's letting Histories out. Maybe it's Roland? I don't know, the librarians are suspicious and up to something! (or maybe I read to many dystopians)
