Kindle British Mystery Book Club discussion

Hi David, I just started reading Locked in, and I'm locked in ;-) Don't you think that one of the characteristics of a good mystery, is that you find several murderer-candidates early in the book? The journalist might even have done it! Curious and curiouser...

That is where am at right now too, at a quarter of the way into the book. Not sure what I think of it yet.

I really liked the main character and many of the other characters. I liked the writing style fine too, but some of the plot points bothered me. Overall, though, I found it a good read and plan to read more of the series.

Weird: I found the plot really good, but the total book sort of 'thin'. As if I missed some fat in the storylines, character devlopments. For example: the way the main character is described, lacks in depth. The lonely detective becomes a chliché that way. But still, the essential questions of motive, opportunity, and method were great and the writing style is action oriented, which gives the total speed and energy.

Yeah that remained a mystery untill the very end for me too! Have fun!
