Haven't read him - and I have to confess that I'm not a big fan of his ...

Shirley | 4177 comments I haven't read this one either!

Leslie | 16369 comments I love RLS! I do think that I like Treasure Island a bit more than Kidnapped but both books were read and reread in my childhood. I recently listened to the audiobook of Treasure Island so maybe that is where my preference comes from...

These are often thought of as boys' stories, but I am proof that girls can enjoy them too :)

Laura, you mentioned somewhere that you don't much like adventure stories - am I remembering correctly? This is definitely an adventure story...

Leslie | 16369 comments I am doing pretty well on this list so far -- out of the 24, there are only 3 I haven't read yet (Sybil, Pilgrim's Progress, and The Scarlet Letter). I won't mention how many of them I have read in the past 12-18 months :P

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) Did you stop needing sleep during the past 12-18 months by any chance Leslie? :D

LOL! No, but I have drastically reduced the amount of television I watch :D

Yes, that would help my reading, if I did that.

You're unbeatable Leslie, but I'm right behind you:
Clarissa, Gulliver’s Travels, Sybil, Kidnapped
But I think that the more we get close to the XX/XXI century the less I'll have read!

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) There's a sort of "Parkinson's Law" of good books...

Which is? The more time you have to read the more books come out to be read?

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) Exactly, Laura :) Or even, the more books you want to read, the more there seem to be!
