Here you can post your thoughts, quotes, likes and dislikes about first thirteen chapters of the book, spoilers allowed for this section only :)

Gina's (ginasgoodreads) Hi bibliophiles.

I am reading this book also with a friend of a book club group and yesterday I just read like 100 pages I have like 3 days that I started the book and now I'm almost in the chapter 13.

Now, I can't put down the book and I have the feeling that I will finish the book within a month.

The advantage that we have is that in my country the movies arrive some weeks and months later so I have plenty of time before the previews/spoilers come to my country.

Hopefully you guys are enjoying the book and getting surprised by it. I'm still trying to figure out which faction does what (the ones that aren't mentioned so often).

Greetings to all and keep reading :)

Camelia (kmelia) | 4 comments I started to read it but It was kinda slow at the beginning and didn't feel hooked like it has happened to me with other books however at some point things started to happen and now I can't put it down. I think is entertaining so I'll finish it.

I read the first third of the book last night... The setting is interesting, but somehow hard to believe. The story is kind of predictable, but it's all right, it's good enough to follow.
I find annoying though how Tris constantly pretends to be blind to why Four (WHAT KIND OF NAME IS THAT?) is constantly around her. Really annoying. I hoped it'll be somewhat different, but isn't - in a sense I can already see we'll have some love triangle, our heroine plays dumb (oh does that mean he loves me? I do not understand, why? What does he see in me? -- Well, I do not know either and I wish he doesn't, the whole story would be more interesting)
But I'll continue to read it. It might yet surprise me, who knows.

Pia | 3 comments I started this book on thursday and I liked it a lot so far and I hope there will be some more action

Katey (mrscoachlady) | 5 comments I just started this book yesterday, and I have finished with this first section of chapters. I plan on seeing the film, and even though it's already in theaters, I won't see it until next week.
I was hooked on this book from the beginning, and I am loving everything that is happening. I wonder if Beatrice being labeled as Divergent will mean something by the end. She chooses to go to the Dauntless faction, and so far, she's doing well. She shot a gun, she won a fight, and she's even had knives thrown at her. One of the leaders, Four, seems to have a crush on Beatrice, who changed her name to Tris to fit her new life. I can't wait to read the next section.

Elena | 109 comments Interesting world setting... I like the idea of 5 different factions, even though it seems quite unrealistic....

I had a problem with - if you get eliminated during the initiation to your new faction, you become faction-less - you can't go back home to your family and their faction, but have to live on the street like a homeless?! Why?! Ok - far-fetched but - let's say that's fine! However, then, factionless people are said to be "bus drivers, cleaners, construction workers, barbers, tailors, etc..." and they are all "dirty, smelly people who live and sleep on the street" ??? What?!?! Since when is being a barber equivalent to being a homeless?!?!?!?!

Alana (alanasbooks) | 730 comments I think those are some of the questions we're supposed to be thinking about as we read. Food for thought, in any society.
