Kyla pulled at his hands. "Cameron? What-" she tried to ask why when she realized she had been tricked. "Why would I do that?" The shifter asked him with a smirk.

"I will blow a hole in your head of you don't let her go." He stepped forward.

"I'm not afraid of that. As long as I kill her first then it doesn't matter." He told her.
"Shoot him, please." Kyla mouthed. She gasped as he tightened the grip on her throat.

"If I put my gun down will you let her go?" He asked.

"Probably not." He shrugged.

"Well in that case." He shit his gun and shot him in the head.

The shifter crumpled to the ground.
Kyla fell to her knees, gasping for air.

He went over to her. "You okay?"

Kyla nodded. She wrapped her arms around herself. "I...can't... Believe I .. Fell for that..." She said in between breaths.

"Hey it's okay. I probably would have believed it if it was my…look, it's over now. You want to stay in my room for now?" He asked.

Kyla shrugged. She took a few more deep breaths, calming herself down.

He stayed with her.

Kyla glanced up at him. "Thank you.." She whispered.

"You're welcome. If you need anything just ask." He said.

Kyla nodded. She looked around the room.

He got up.

She took a deep breath and stood up.

"Would you like to come to my room?" He asked

Kyla nodded.

He walked out of the room with her and closed the door.

Kyla walked with him silently.

He opened his door for her then went in and shut it.

"Thank you.." She whispered.

"You're welcome." He looked at her. "You okay?"

"Yeah.. I guess." Kyla shrugged. A bruise appeared to be starting to form around her neck.

He went to the bathroom to get ice.

Kyla sat in a chair, bringing her knees up to her chest.

He brought her an ice pack and sat across from her.

"Thanks." She whispered, gently pressing the ice against her neck.

"You're welcome." He smiled slightly.

Kyla smiled weakly back at him.

He looked at his phone.

She glanced around the room, biting her lip.

He put his phone away.

Kyla sighed softly, lost in her own thoughts.

"Do you want to stay here tonight?" He asked.

Kyla shrugged, only half listening. She glanced at him.

"You could have the bed age I could have the couch." He said.

"No, it's okay. I probably won't sleep.." Kyla said softly.

"You can have the bed anyway." He said

Kyla shook her head no. "No. You take the bed." She argued softly.

"You will." He said. "Or we both share the bed."

"I'm not gonna sleep. So you should take the bed." She argued.

"What are you going to do?" He asked.

"Read probably.." She shrugged.

"I'll read with you." He said.

"Okay." Kyla shrugged.

He got out his own book.

Kyla grabbed her backpack which she had brought with her. She took out her book.

He flipped through pages.
